Simple appreciation (scheduled)

Hello! I'm hopefully lying on the beach reading a book (under an umbrella, of course) by the time you read this. Or maybe biking the trail around the peninsula!

Today's card is for the newest sketch at Sasya Sketches. For some reason I kept this one really simple, although it can absolutely be taken in the opposite direction. *smile* I haven't used that Tim Holtz stamp in quite a while so I grabbed it on a whim and I think it works well! Sentiment is from PTI.

I hope you'll play along with us this week at Sasya's Sketches!

Thanks for stopping by,

Fun post! (scheduled)

Morning everyone! Today's post is all about the fun!
The JiFFy girls (Just for Fun) have invited me to play along in their challenge this month! *squeal*
Every month one of the JiFFy girls chooses the paper and another chooses the image and they are sent to the group.  The challenge is they never know what they’re getting until they arrive.  It’s always a surprise!  I am honored and SUPER excited to play along this month -thanks girls!
Here are the regular JiFFy girls, stamp stars that they are!

Be sure to stop by and see what they've created this month using PP (picked by Julie) and the same image from PTI's Chair-ished stamp set (picked by Alli)!

I had so much fun playing along with you girls, and as soon as I get back from this camping trip and have access to electricity and internet, I will stop by and see what you all have created! Thanks again JiFFy girls, for inviting me to play along with your challenge this month.

Hey folks, I'm not on vacation yet! Not until Sunday! (but thanks for the vaca wishes anyway...*grin*)

This card was made for Sasya's Sketches. This weeks sketch is a fun one, and I wanted to keep it simple. White embossed flower image with white inking on an embossed kraft base.
Won't you play along with us this week for sketch no. 20 at Sasya's Sketches?

Tuesday Throwdown #9

I know, I know, I've been neglecting my blog, but it's only because we are going on vacation and all my free time has been spent on my Design Team duties and scheduling blog posts for while we are away! Forgive me?

Today's card is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge to use paper piercing on your project. Maybe you can't see my piercing, but I was going for something different than the usual border or straight line, so all those tiny dots surrounding the bugs are pierced using different sized piercing tools from my Pergamano days.
Our sponsor this week is Whimsy Stamps! They have some really CUTE rubber and digital images. I used the Smile Bug and Little Bug Line digitals for my card. Isn't it adorable? (yes, I like my card today, although not my usual style). It makes me happy just looking at it!

Won't you play along with us this week at Tuesday Throwdown? There is a great prize to be won from Whimsy Stamps, 5 free digital images!

Thanks for stopping by today friends! Do something creative!

FTL sketch 98

Hi All! Guess what? My nephew won a big singing/performing competition in upstate NY last night and now has an all-expenses paid trip to San Fransisco and a guaranteed audition for American Idol! I'm so pleased for him. He and his band have been together for a long time but his solo stuff is awesome.

This is a card I made last month actually, but I thought it almost qualified for the Clean and Simple blog FTL #98 sketch!
All stamps by PCD (I used 3 different sets here), leaf ribbon and CS from PTI.

Don't forget about the PCD sketch challenge for a chance to win a $50 gift card to the Practicing Creativity Designs store! Entries are due by midnight today!

Thanks for stopping by today friends! I promise to catch up on your blog posts as soon as I have a few spare minutes on the computer!

Soft and sweet

Whew! We finally got a reprieve from the heat with a bit of light rain yesterday. Of course, that just made it muggier, but my garden needed the water anyway. So what's on your agenda today? I'm getting my hair trimmed (I'm a total slacker when it comes to those things, and usually only remember once a year).

Today's card is for Sasya's Sketches. I had a hard time with this one until I turned it on it's side!

But the rest of the DT did marvelous things with it, so apparently it was just me! *snort*
Hop on over to Sasya's Sketches and see for yourself. And if you are feeling creative, join us this week. We'd love to have you! Oh, and did you notice I did some more hand stitching? Yep, using PTI button twine on this one!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a good one!

Long time no post folks!
Being that it's summer, I have been spending as much time outside as possible lately, because we have snow 7 months of the year here, and I need to enjoy this warm, sunny weather while I can!

This card is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week, to use stitching on your project! Well I love my sewing machine and you all know that I often stitch on my cards, but I actually did some hand stitching on this one! See the red floss along the top and bottom of the white sentiment panel...yep, I took the time to do it by hand! *proud smile*

Keeping it simple with some digital images from Dee Dee's Digis, Copic markers, PP and CS from PTI.
The digital stamps I used are called Bookworm, and I received 2 images and 3 sentiments all together in the set! I only used the wormy apple here, but the worm and book image are just as adorable!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you feel like stitching and you get a chance to play along with us at Tuesday Throwdown, I'd love to see what you create!
Have a good one,

Listen to the Music

Hi! Did everyone have a nice weekend? We purchased a ton of fireworks across the border, then came back across the state line and set them off illegally in my mom's backyard for the 4th of July! *shhhh* What fun!

Today's card is for Tuesday Throwdown! This week's challenge is to try mosaic tiles, something I'd never done before (and which there are many, many versions of). It was kind of retro old-school feeling so I tried to keep that theme going on with the rest of my card too.
Sherrod Studios is the sponsor this week, and I happened to have an awesome clear stamp set from there, called Bluegrass, so I used that set!

My hubster informed  me that I could NOT stamp the mandolin and the guitar together alone (he claims they don't sound good together), but that I COULD stamp the banjo and mandolin together, and also the banjo and guitar...or was it the *shaking head in confusion* WHATEVER! I decided to stamp all three (and he approved)!
That fun striped ribbon comes from May Arts at the PCD store, and I used a black Copic to add the black stripe for contrast.

Just a few photos from our backyard celebration with illegal fireworks! *grin*

This last one is my favorite...I just love it!

So if you feel up to the challenge, play along with us at Tuesday Throwdown and give mosaic tiles a try! You could win a suh-weet prize package from Sherrod Studios!

Thanks for stopping by today peeps!

PCD release day!

So today is the day that My Beach Cottage is released! Head on over to the Practicing Creativity Designs store and grab it up.
Also don't forget to participate in the sketch challenge for a chance to win a $50 gift card to the PCD store!

Notice all the white space on this card? I've left it blank so I can stamp a name into that spot when I find the perfect occasion for this card. The gold rope is so fun and I thought it really worked well with these colors. I just love that anchor...*sigh* And I finally had a reason to use my rope border punch too! Yippee!

I have been away for the last few days, but I'll be back later today to catch up on everyone's blog posts! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!

Thanks for stopping by today friends,

Peek no.3--My Beach Cottage

Just a quick pop-in today to say Happy Independence Day to all my US readers! I hope you are celebrating in a big way today! Set off those fireworks and wave those flags!

This was the first card I made after I received My Beach Cottage in the mail from Courtney. Isn't it fun?*grin* So simple for the golfer in your life too, no? Just stamp the flag and draw a little elliptical oval at the bottom, then glue on a white mini pompom for the golf ball! A truly "fun escape" in my book.

Be sure to pop over to Courtney's blog and see the other samples and the video and leave a comment for a chance to win the set.  I know Alice and Paulina have samples up too, so check them out!
Tomorrow is the big release and I can't wait!

Details:

My Beach CottagePrice: $12.99
Shipping and Handling: Flat Rate $4 for continental US; Flat Rate $6 International
Stamps are made in the US from high-quality photopolymer.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day everyone!

My Beach Cottage peek no.2

Welcome to day 2 of the sneak peeks for My Beach Cottage by PCD! This month Courtney is releasing the stamps on the 5th, so you have one less day to wait! Woo hoo!
I kept this one simple and to the point, using sand paper for the bottom and embossing the anchor image in several coats of black e.p. before cutting it out.

I love that a really strong card can be made with few things...don't you? I tied a piece of black cord around the top of the anchor and dragged my Copic across the sandpaper to give the look of real dragging! Two simple star fish finish the card with a lazy, relaxed font saying "Welcome."

Be sure to stop by Courtney's blog and see what else she has up her sleeve and don't forget about Paulina and Alice too! Remember if you leave a comment on any of the release week posts on Courtney's blog, you will be entered to win the My Beach Cottage set!

Thanks for stopping by today friends, hope you have a wonderful weekend!
OH and I wanted to give a shout out to my multi-talented friend Jessica who posted an incredible tutorial on her blog yesterday. She shows us how to carve our own stamps and it is so much easier than I originally thought. She had really great pictures and even some carving tips too. Go check it out for a chance to win some blog candy from her...some of her hand carved stamps! Woo hoo!

It's distortion time!

I'm feeling so much better and really appreciate the well wishes from all of you, my dear readers. Good thing too, I did NOT want to be sick for the upcoming holiday!

Today's card was actually one I created last month for the PCD release, Barefoot Summer. It was my first attempt ever at "scene stamping." I know, I know, it really isn't my style at all, but a girl has to try new things once in a while, right? *chuckle*
Know what my favorite thing about it is? The sponged clouds! They are so much fun to make! Oh and the tiny clothespins too...so cute!

Today Courtney is showing a distorted sneak peek on her blog of the newest release from Practicing Creativity Designs! Be sure to hop on over there and leave a guess as to what it might be for a chance to win it!

And be prepared for a challenge tomorrow when the card sneak peeks start! Such fun things are happening in the next few days!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you don't feel compelled to leave me a comment telling that my first scene stamping wasn't that bad...I know the truth! LOL *snort* You gotta take the good with the bad, right?
