CAS-ual Friday

Hi Everyone.
Happy Friday!

We have a real challenge comin' at you this week at CAS-ual Fridays

Your 'assignment' (and I use that term loosely!) is to create a 4 x 9 card.
The challenge comes in with the idea that this is a CAS blog, so you need to resist the urge to fill it up and embrace the white space!

And in case you couldn't tell, we were sponsored by the indomitable Lawn Fawn this week! WOO HOO!

I used two different Lawn Fawn sets to create this fun card.
I also used the super fun rays from Practicing Creativity's You're Dandy.

If you are feeling up to the challenge, join us this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
Hope to see you there!

Grape notes

When I was a kid, Grape-nuts were my favorite cereal of all time.
But I never understood why they were called grape-nuts
There were no grapes, and no nuts.
Weird.

But this post is not about breakfast cereal, rather it's about a product spotlight for Denami!

This small cluster of grapes is so versatile.
I love how cute it is alone and stamped in multiples too.
I stamped it in Versamark originally, and then again and heat embossed them in white for more effect.
I also stamped, colored and fussy cut a few out as a sort of hanging grape vine look.
My uncle's pergola off his back patio is covered with grapes and vines.
So pretty.
The sentiment is one of my faves from Denami because honestly, most of the cards I create are "just because" and this is the perfect one for an everyday card!
I love the mix of fonts too.

The small grape cluster stamp is 10% off this week only, so pick one up today and create yourself something grape-a-liscious!

Oh, and for more bee-you-ti-ful samples using it, be sure to stop by the Denami blog today for a feast for the eyes!

Thanks for stopping by,

Sketch challenge

Happy Wednesday all!
I'm away from home right now, but have scheduled this to show up this morning. I want to let you all know about the sketch challenge happening at Simple Scrapping Crafts right now.

You can see I took some liberties with the sketch, but I did keep all the elements!

My stamps are from the Celebrating You set by The Crafts Meow. CS is Vintage Cream by PTI, Cuttlebug embossing folder, cherry blossom flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (love their flowers...OMG).

Because our challenge is sponsored by The Crafts Meow, the prize for the winner is ANY stamp set of your choice!
ROCK ON!
(am I showing my age here? *chuckle*)

Play along with us!

CAS-ual Friday

Hi!
I'm on the road for work currently, but I wanted to be sure you knew about this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge
It's all about the summer sweets!
Last week was a first for me, making a shaped card, but so many of you players really inspired me to branch out and try it more often. FUN.
Just like our newest challenge...

Popsicles, ice cream cones, candy, cakes, you name it!
Put it on your CAS project and link it up for a chance to win BIG!
And I do mean BIG!
Our sponsor this week is PSA Essentials. Just wait until you see what they are offering to the TGIF winner... you won't believe it!

On to my card:
I fondly remember eating lots of toothpick popsicles when I was a kid.
Did you eat those too?
Source: mangotomato.com via Dana on Pinterest

Plain old juice or perhaps kool-aid poured into ice cube trays and then frozen?
We would shove toothpicks into them once they were slushy to have something to grab onto when frozen solid.
Cheap and delicious...at least to my 8 year old self. *chuckle*

Some of you know that orange is my all time favorite color. My living room walls used to be orange, but now they are a pale sea blue and I have orange accents all over with our white furniture.
How about some inspiration from Pinterest?
See where I'm going with this?
This card was meant to be.

Be sure to play along with us this week for the GRAND PRIZE, by linking your CAS Sweets & Treats project up at CAS-ual Fridays!

Thanks for stopping by,

Hibiscus hello

'Morning all.

I'm popping in here today with a product spotlight from Denami

I really like the bold outline of this hibiscus and thought it looked great when embossed in white on vellum. And it's super-easy to cut out too!
Because the outline is so thick, it's very forgiving...*ahem* don't ask how I know that though...*smile*
It also looks good when layered multiple times, but I'll save that card for another day!

I paired it with the Aloha sentiment and made it sort of "back tie."
I was going for classy, but this hibiscus stamp is too fun for that!
Stamped on that lush charcoal CS with versamark ink wasn't enough...it needed a punch of color and the bright peach CS just brought it out, don't you think?

This large bold hibiscus stamp is on sale this week, so get it while you can!
It would look great on a Hawaiian shirt card for a guy!

And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has in store for you on the Denami blog too, some really great eye-candy for sure.

Thanks for stopping by,
Have a good one!

Mish mash

Howdy blogland!

I have a busy week at work so in the interest of my suddenly dwindling time, I will be keeping this short.
I made this for fun a few weeks ago and am finally posting it.

These BG stamps make me happy because they go all the way across a horizontal card base! No offense meant towards PTI, but it drives me bonkers to attempt to line up their BG stamps to fit a card oriented this way. Both Practicing Creativity Designs and WPlus9 make longer strips of clear stamps. *love*

Houndstooth BG stamp by PCD, Woodgrain BG stamp by WPlus9, sentiment, PP, cardstock, buttons, twine by PTI, flower by Pink Paislee.

Denami Lovely Layers Blog Hop

Welcome to the Denami Blog Hop!

You came from Pat's blog, right?
If you are lost, go to the beginning, here.

I know, I know.
It's called the lovely LAYERS blog hop, but I layered my ink instead of my cardstock, see?
I was trying to go for that faux embossing look, but clearly I am not so good at it.
*snort*
Ah well, with practice I should get better.

I used the solid decorative crest, and Thankful for You sentiment. A few black rhinestones finished it off along with a rhinestone buckle I've had in my stash for many years.

Your next stop on the hop is Debbie!
Be sure to comment on each blog hop post for a chance at winning 1 of two $20 Gift Certificates to the Denami store!

Thanks for hopping by,

Embellish challenge with Denami

Happy Saturday everyone!

Did you see the new Embellish Challenge
Denami is the sponsor again this week so some of us DT members created our own "nautical" themed card using the Embellish colors and Denami stamps!

And of course some red grosgrain ribbon (that I stitched with my sewing machine) and those wonderful Sand buttons too!

Love these colors together and also love anything nautical too, so this was a fun challenge!
Here's the inside of my card...*tee hee*
I wanted the sailboat chickie to be a surprise on the inside.

Why not join in this challenge at the Embellish blog for a chance at some Denami stamps?

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS-ual Friday

Woohoo!
Although I have to go to court this morning (fighting an unjust traffic ticket *grumble*), I am so glad it is Friday.
 Aren't you?

This week's challenge at the CAS-ual Friday blog is a fun one, so I hope you play along!
Shaped cards!
You just HAVE to go see the DT's samples...a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e!

I had a blast creating with this apron template from Paper Smooches!
They are our sponsor this week and they have some amazing shaped card templates (and adorable stamps too!), so be sure to check them out!

I used a digital freebie for the sentiment and the stars peeking out of the pocket too.

Originally, I made a vintage looking apron, but then decided to make just one more card and ended up with these cutie-patootie overalls!
I was so pleased by them. *smile*
Makes me think of the old OshKosh engineer ones with navy and white stripes I had as a kid. Remember those?

Go create and play my friends!
And while you're at it, link up a shaped card (anything but a square or rectangle) to the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week!

See you there!

I choose to work with Celebrating You...and isn't it a stunner? *sigh*

Now THAT'S a deal!

Did you see the newly released Life is a carnival set?

Vintage in the making

Happy Wednesday!

I was feeling shabby the other day and after playing with some bits and pieces, this card came together pretty fast. The crazy part is that it was the first time I'd ever inked up Button Boutique by PTI. Don't know why I waited so long.

I love these pins.
They were purchased from this Etsy shop last year sometime and I am totally hoarding them!

PP from Webster's Pages, tag from 7 gypsies (but about 6 years ago now), sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages by PTI.

Isn't is neat the way different lighting can change the look of something?
Love that.

Thanks for stopping by today,
