CAS-ual Fridays (kraft)

Can I share my love for this tongue-in-cheek set?
It just makes me smile every time I use it:)

I created this masculine BD card for a friend of mine, and of course it's late. *shrug*
 What can I say?
But it also fits the bill for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge:

I created a "kraft colored" panel by coloring with my Copic markers on glossy CS. It was fun and I think it would be great in lots of other color hues as well.

This is a bittersweet CAS-ual Friday post, because of a few changes.
Sad because we are saying goodbye to several members of our team (Karolyn, Jenny, Julie, and Stephanie) *sniff sniff*
Girls, it was delightful working with you and I hope you still play along with us. Don't be strangers!
but HAPPY because the new Casual Friday Stamps debut TONIGHT!!!!

Of course the sponsor for this week is Casual Fridays Stamps:)

And the winner gets a gift certificate to choose any of the new stamp sets that debut today!

I hope you'll join us in this kraft challenge and strut your talent.

Thanks for stopping by,
XOXO

Two fer...

I have two cards to share today!
This one is for the sneak peeks happening at the NEW CASual Fridays Stamps Blog
Eeeek!!
Don't you just love this set? It's called Truth Is...
And you can win it by commenting over on the blog! And if you haven't commented yet on the previous sneak peeks this week, don't worry..you still have time, so get over there for a chance to win all of the sets being released!

This was the first card I ever created using my very first set Michele sent me from the new Casual Fridays Stamps...it was so hard not to spill the beans to everyone as I was working with this set...it's just so versatile and beautiful and the sentiments are perfect for brightening someone's day. *smile*
I sponged shades of blue ink all over white glossy cardstock, then heat embossed the flower stems in white, I did the same with the sentiment, but used a Copic marker to color over the white e.p. for one word to make it stand out.  A few ribbon loops and dots of Copic inside the flower and it was done!

And now for the next card...

My second card is for the Denami spotlight of the sweet Give Thanks circle
It's 10% off all this week!

Denami supplies I used:
(didn't stamp the "you" and drew in an "s")

For lots of gorgeous samples using this fun stamp, check out the Denami blog!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you enjoyed my designs:)

CAS-ual Fridays (hearts)

I {heart} Fridays *grin*
Not only is it the beginning of a 2 day work-break for me, but it also means a new CAS-ual Friday challenge is happenin'!

This week its all about incorporating hearts.

I started with a photo of a painted sign and fiddled with it to make it fit a standard card size before printing it onto some thick cardstock. I then punched a heart shape from the middle, wrapped it with twine and adhered it to my hot pink card base with pop dots.

Our sponsor this week is very fitting:)
They don't just sell papers though. They sell gorgeous dies, awesome stamps, Copic markers, and lots more!

Come join in the CAS-ual Friday challenge and put your {heart} into it!
And don't forget about the BIG SECRET that will be revealed on the 19th! *squeal*
Check out a way to win a suh-weet prize package for displaying a blinkie HERE

CAS-ual Fridays (for the girls)

What a week.
I'm ready for it to end. This rash of bad luck has followed me long enough! *chuckle*
Did I mention that a yellow jacket stung me twice yesterday in my left index finger and it swelled up like a giant purple log with throbbing pain that is still radiating into my hand and up my arm even now? *sigh*

But my silly problems pale in comparison to dealing with breast cancer, and with October being Breast Cancer awareness month, this week the CAS-ual Friday challenge is FOR THE GIRLS.

Create a clean and simple project with the woman in your life in mind. A mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, friend, co-worker, wife.

I went with a straightforward sentiment, but a with a subtle twist on the image.
The lemon slice was made with felt and stitched together by hand.

We are sponsored by Simon Say Stamp again!
They have been so generous with our winners, you should check them out!

And don't forget that we are looking for a guest designer this week also. Get your mojo flowing and bring out your best effort for this challenge
CAS-ual Fridays wants YOU!

Thanks for stopping by,
XOXO

Color challenge

Monday again? Ugh. Back to the grindstone!

I had a strange weekend. Let me share a bit...
Friday night I went to an incredible concert that made my heart full and my spirit sing (The Indigo Girls with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra). Then I proceeded to run from a potential mugger on my way back to my car, get lost driving alone in inner city Buffalo, nearly run out of gas, get gas and drive an hour, then pick up my kids around midnight, drive a half mile and hit a deer (for the first time in my life), smash up my 9 month old new car, get placed on hold with the insurance company for TWELVE MINUTES after choosing option #1 to "report an accident", finally get help from a Sheriff that saw my flashers only to discover that my vehicle registration had expired last week. *sigh*
After finally getting home and putting the kiddos to bed around 1:30 in the morning, I realized I should be thankful that none of us were hurt and that the sheriff let me slide without a ticket and that at least I HAVE insurance. But alas, I was on the phone with Progressive the next day (Saturday) for 2 hours only to discover that they DROPPED my comprehensive collision insurance 2 weeks ago (without informing me) and would NOT be covering the damages.
*insert expletives here*
Life is grand though:)
And in other news I wimped out and turned my heat on this Sunday *shiver*

But you didn't come here to listen to my sob story, so lets get a move on, eh?

If you are in a fall mood, why not join us for the Denami color challenge happening right now on the Denami blog? There are prizes to be had, so give it a shot!
