Mother's Day Daffodils and Dahlias

15 minutes after the postman handed me my box of goodies from the March release at Papertrey Ink, I had this card finished. lol I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and I think it came out pretty close to what I had in mind.
I tried to stamp the sentiment on some clear cardstock so you could see through to the BG, but the Spellbinders label would NOT cut that clear CS out! Very frustrating, I tell you. Anyone have tips for cutting clear CS with a nestie?

I like the new Hawaiian Shores color very much, and paired with dark chocolate I think it looks superb. Although you can't tell, I added some sparkle to the centers of the flowers with my clear glitter pen.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday, thanks for stopping by!

This is really great Dana! I love that you had this card done within 15 of getting your goodies. I cant do that, I have to stare at them for a while first, hee hee. Also loved how you paired the dahlias and the daffadils. Beautiful card!

This is so pretty! That's my favorite color combo!

I haven't tried this but I wonder if you tried cutting the clear cardstock with a layer of cardstock underneath it to kind of support it? Or maybe with the clear carstock wedged between 2 pieces of cardstock? Just a thought.

Beautiful card! Love the simplicity of it. I did not order those two stamp sets and now I wish I had! Still waiting for my PTI order to arrive. :o)

I love this - so crisp and clean and Julie is right - the daffodils DO look a little 3D-ish! :)

Very very pretty.

Lovely! :)

I have trouble with clear transparencies as well. I've been told that you should try an extra cardstock shim to help it out but I still can't get it to work for me. Let me know if you ever get it!

So beautiful! I love this color combo, too. Nope, not jealous at all that you've gotten your order already...

I agree that the colors together create a beautiful combination, and the only suggestion for cutting the clear cardstock would be to add an extra layer or two?

How did I miss your blog before? All your cards are amazing. I may have to CASE your dahlia/daffodil. Love the color combo too.

Hi Dana -- just came across this FABULOUS card after coming here from the PTI News where you were featured -- CONGRATS!!!
I saw the answer to your question about cutting clear cardstock on a video that the Stacey, Spellbinders' owner posted -- you need to use the eyelet-setting plate. I do not have it, but believe it's a thin metal plate, which would give the die the needed resistance to cut completely through -- I NEED one, as I've often wondered how to do this too! Good luck!!!
