Inspired by Barb

ETA: I accidentally scheduled this for 6 PM not AM...*smacking myself in the head*

Hello!
Have you seen the new feature called Inspired By on the Denami Blog?
It features one of YOUR creations and the DT's twist on it.
Today we are showcasing Barb:)

It's soft, layered, gorgeous, and full of so many details! That girl can really create. I can only dream of having her talent. Plus, Barb is the sweetest person and leaves really nice comments:)

I chose to stay true to her original design by keeping the LO and the elements, and just switching around the colors and stamps.

My crooked BG panel uses the Dahlia flower stamped repeatedly, overlayed by the Large Dot Swirls in pale green, and the Mini Heart in hot pink. The tag is stamped with Dragonfly, and layered with white embossed You're The Best sentiment. I kept the very same double color twine bow as it still matched perfectly!

Be sure to check out the Denami blog to see how the rest of the DT was inspired by Barb, including Barb herself!

Thanks for stopping by,
XOXO

Buttons and Bows

Happy Sunday folks:)
I'm raising a glass to my Dad today. Although he died 6 years ago, he would be 90 today! Cheers to you Dad. *mwah*

I'm also posting today for the Buttons and Bows Blog Hop along with some other Denami friends. I'm the last stop and you should have come from Stacy's blog
Did you make it all the way through?
For a chance to win one of two $20 Gift Certificates, be sure to check out the full list of participants on the Denami Blog and leave a comment on each person's post.

I have two cards to share today.

The first one uses both the small and large daisy blossom stamps, along with a simple sentiment from the Assorted Greetings set. Their centers are white boutique buttons with twine to match the patterned papers.  I drew the stems with a brown marker and added the double hemp bow, then stitched the entire panel onto a card base.

This one could be used for a masculine graduation, Bar Mitzvah, or even a wedding.
I was trying to get the feel of a button down dress shirt with a cummerbund below. Did it work? Can you see the picture in my head? *chuckle*
I used the houndstooth background stamped twice. First in light grey, then in dark grey off to the side a bit to add a shadow. Two white boutique buttons were sewn to a cardstock strip with stitching and the grey ribbon was tied below. A simple congratulations sentiment was all it needed to finish:)

I'm sure you've been inspired by all the creative goodness in this month's blog hop!
I can't wait to see what everyone has to share:)

Thanks for stopping by, good luck winning the Gift Certificate!

Happy Easter

For my Casual Friday Stamps sneak peek post, click here

Good Morning! (It's morning somewhere, right?)
I'm sharing a few Easter cards I created as part of the Product Spotlight happening this week at Denami.

This sweet and perfectly sized sentiment is on sale all week for 10% off, so grab it now! I like to send out a few each year Easter Cards and I usually reach for this sentient. It just fits.

I heat embossed the Medium Basket in white and cut it out. I couldn't resist adding a bunch of Tulips that were colored, cut out, and glittered, and a few colorful eggs from the Solid Egg Border as well:) Purple has always meant Easter to me...sort of a royal color, showing the rebirth of all that went dormant during winter.

Here is another card where I used the same sentiment.

I began by stamping a sheet of green cardstock with two vine/leaf stamps for a swirly pattern; Solid Leaf Vine, and Solid Leaf Sprig. I cut it to fit my tall cardbase. Then I added my white focal cardstock piece with some hollyhock dies that I colored. I pierced the edges and stamped the Grass border along the bottom. All it needed was the sentiment, Happy Easter, and a button and a bow.

To see all the beautiful cards created by the DT using this Happy Easter stamp, check out the Denami Blog.

Rejoice!

Happy Wednesday :)
I'm glad Spring is theoretically here in the northeast, but the extra 4 inches of snow we received last night on top of what we already had does not SEEM Spring-like at all. *pout*

I'm sharing a card I created using the new Cross & Vines stamp from Denami.
In fact, the whole team is sharing projects made with this elegant stamp!

The simple elegance of this cross stamp is that is doesn't need much to make it shine. A few flowers from the Elegant Floral Circle, colored like lilies and cut out, and a few leafy springs from the Elegant Floral Petit Fours set dress the cross up. I also hand drew a "frame" around the stamp and cut it out to enlarge the look of the cross. I used the large Rejoice sentiment because I love that script-y font. A simple gold cord and I called it done.

Because this is the second spotlight post of the month, we are having a hop AND the stamp is on sale for 10% off!
If you travel along this mini hop leaving a comment on each DT member's blog, you have a grand chance at wining this Cross & Vines stamp as well! (if you purchase it on sale this week but end up winning it, your money will be refunded)

Thanks for stopping by, Good luck!

Inspired by...Kim

Hello friends!
It's been a week since my last post and a lot has been happening here in my world. I turned 37...*smile*, my youngest joined the school musical, we had 4 days with weather above freezing, and I've been cooking and baking up a storm at home.
What's been happening with you?

Today the Denami DT is sharing projects based on one of YOUR cards.

This month it's Kim! Check out her original card here: Kim's card

I really liked the striped turquoise frame around her card so I kept that theme, and the black twine she used inspired me to make my own frame for the little Woodland Friends stamp. I used the exact same stamp, only I separated the critters into their own cubbies:)
I liked Kim's use of the Balloon Trio so I kept that as well. Because I wanted the sentiment to fit into my cut frame I used a different Happy Birthday stamp.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations, along with a NEW one by Kim herself at the Denami Blog today!
If you'd like to submit some of YOUR own creations to be considered for the "Inspired By" feature, click here

Hoppy spring:)

Well upstate NY may be in the middle of a blizzard currently, but we had 2 days above freezing in the past three weeks so Spring is on it's way!
And that makes me happy happy happy.
Or "hoppy" as the case may be:)

This week's Product Spotlight is the darling 4-stamp set of Cuddly Pals which include a kitten, bunny, mouse, and puppy.
This set comes in wood mounted or cling and is on sale for 10% off all week!
I simply stamped the bunny three times in pink ink on lighter pink cardstock and then colored them in with a white gel pen. The sentiment seemed like the perfect fit! And nestled in among those bunnies are some stark white buttons and pink twine as well.

Be sure to check out the Denami Blog to see some super-cute samples by the DT. Those girls are so clever and creative I tell ya!

Fuzzy Critters Blog Hop

(My sneak peek post of a new Casual Fridays Stamps set is below this post!)

Welcome to the Fuzzy Friends Blog Hop!
I hope you are getting some great inspiration and leaving comments to potentially win a $20 gift certificate!

The full list of participants is on the Denami Blog, and I'm right after the talented Stacy if you are following along.
I kept things simple this month but at least I made two cards, right?
Perhaps I'm in a CAS mood. *shrug*

I was thinking this would be a cute baby announcement if you included a photo on the inside. Change the colors and make it girly or change the animals too!

This card is for my BFF, Mary because we HAVE been friends forever:)
Or at least since the third grade! *chuckle*
She prefers CAS cards, and I almost left off the ribbon but added it in anyway.

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two $20 GC to the Denami Store.

Now onto Lyndal's blog!

Thanks for stopping by,

Luck o' the Irish

Hi there!
I'm posting this sweet Irish Chickies card as part of the mini hop feature with Denami.

Because the Irish Chickies are the Spotlight Feature this week, they are on sale for 10% off AND, you have the chance to win this stamp by leaving comments on each of the DT members' blogs.

I used the Lucky Irish stamp set to create my background, as well as the Good Luck sentiment. That gold buckle was a last minute thought and I love how it mimics the buckle on their hats!

Ready to see lots of cute Irish inspired cards?

Inspired by...Stacy!

Hi! Welcome to the very first Inspired By post with Denami!
This is where, on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, the DT chooses one of YOUR Denami cards, and uses it for inspiration!
This month it was STACY'S elegant card!

I had never made a Z-fold card before seeing hers, so I focused on that and kept the birthday theme as well.
Instead of flowers, I went with the Solid Decorative Crest, shadow stamping it both in peach and white to look raised, and used the matching Decorative Crest Circle inside the Elegant Square Frame as the focal point. The Happy Birthday Script in pale grey was added as the sentiment.
You should see the samples by the rest of the DT!
GORGEOUS.
(and they did a much better job of sticking to Stacy's original color scheme...oops!)

Want to have one of YOUR Denami cards featured?
Link them up here for use to choose from:)

Thanks for stopping by,
and thanks to Stacy for her super duper original card!

Things will get better

Brrr, it's a chilly -10°F here this morning.
If that doesn't make me long for spring, nothing will!
Today the Denami DT is spotlighting the beautiful Solid Rose Accents cling set.

This set is one of my very favorite Denami stamp sets ever.
It's INCREDIBLY versatile and so pretty, and it's on sale for 10% off, so now is the best time to grab it!
I used it here for a sympathy card with the Things will get better sentiment matted with the Elegant Oval Frame. I also added in a few tiny dotted flowers from the Garden Accents set, and topped it with a few rhinestones in black.

Be sure to check out the Denami blog to see lots of beautiful ways to use this Solid Rose Accents set. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by,

Polka Dots everywhere!

Happy Sunday crafty friends!
I'm playing along with the February Denami Blog Hop so if you came from Donna Bowman's blog you are on the right track. This month we are all about the polka dots!

Who doesn't love polka dots? They can easily be gender neutral, which is why I created a set of 41/4" square cards for several occasions. I used the Mini Polka Dot stamp and the Medium Polka Dots BG stamp for each card, then just changed out the sentiment.

Here's how I did it...

1. Punch a shape from computer/printer paper, and lightly adhere to your cardstock base.
2. Use the Mini Polka Dot stamp to add your color in a gradient style spreading out from the edge of the punched shape from darkest to lightest.
3. Peel up the punched shaped.
4. Voila!

Bonus Tip:
When I can't find the perfect matching cardstock for a mat layer, I use the same ink and just swipe it across the edges of a white mat layer, creating a perfect match that looks like cardstock!

Your next polka dot creation is on the blog of Lyndal. I know without a doubt that she has something fabulous up her creative sleeve for your inspiration! Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two $20 Gift Certificates to Denami Design before you go:)

Thanks for stopping by today,

Love Circle

I have felt inspired by Pinterest so many times in the past few years, that I want to pay homage to the genius creators behind that mastermind idea:)

See these awesome cards?

 Source #1, Source #2, Source #3
I found them on Pinterest recently and wanted to try random Washi strips on a cardfront myself.
What better time than with the cute heart washi tape I had, and some fun stamps from Denami!

The Love Circle is on sale for the next week, but I also used XOXO, and some cute heart and zigzag patterned washi tape as well:)

Denami hosts a mini hop on the last Wednesday of each month, and there will be a winner drawn from all the commenters to WIN THE LOVE CIRCLE STAMP!

Be sure to stop by each place on the list to increase your chances:)
