CAS-ual Friday (toot)

Never has being present in the moment been more important to me. Truly celebrating the small stuff can bring us happiness for what we DO have. 

A few of you know that I have been going through some rough times for almost a year now. I'm not one for "keepin' it real" on this blog, so I've been quiet about my personal life. 

But suffice it to say that "Celebrating Today" is vital to me right now!

 And it kind of goes along with the title of my blog...Kismet (fate), art, and life:)

CAS-ual Friday (Fall fun)

Brrrr. It's so chilly out here in upstate NY already. *pout*

The leaves on many trees have already turned and my kiddos have been raking the yard.

I'm not ready for sweater weather yet!

But never-the-less, Autumn is on it's way.

So why not embrace it with this FALL fun challenge from CAS-ual Fridays?

For my focal point on the above card, I stamped and embossed several leaf outlines in white ON white, and then drew 4 lines separating the rectangle into sections. Then I colored each section and went over my pencil lines with a white gel pen.

Leave stamps are SU, sentiment is PCD from Fall Fest.

10 Minute Craft Dash

*gasp* I'm posting on a weekend?

Yes.

I had some spare time in between loads of laundry, making meals, and running errands. I created this last night and still had time to read to my boys and sing them a song before bed.

And because I had so much fun the last time I played along, I wanted to participate in the 10 Minute Craft Dash once again.

This card took me 9 and a half minutes to execute. The heat embossing was killing me and almost put me over the edge! *chuckle* I was getting seriously stressed out that I might pass the time limit! And then fussy cutting too!

I really enjoy this new challenge though and hope I can continue playing along with the Craft Dash!

Remember when Asian themed cards were all the rage? 

NO? Well, perhaps it was only in my stamping circles back in 2005 ish...*chuckle*

I LOVE challenges where it's all about the black and white, and this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge is perfect! I usually focus on the black much more, but felt like changing it up this time around. I was going to use red as my plus one but went with gold at the last second:)

Fuzzy ball!

 

I'm blogging from my iphone, so excuse the wonky formatting!

 

I'm so excited to be posting this card today for the Fuzzy Ball spotlight. I thought long and hard before attempting something like this. I knew that the fuzzy ball stamp was popular and could be used in lots of different ways, but I really wanted to change it up and surprise someone:) The solid leaf stamp made the perfect petals for my larger flowers, don't you think?

Anything Goes challenge

Are my stateside friends enjoying their Labor Day Weekend?

The kiddos and I went to the BlueMoon potluck and Big Leg Emma concert Friday night. 

What a blast! I danced until I was exhausted. Then we drove to the FingerLakes on Saturday for family fun, camping, and two of my great-nieces getting baptized. 

School begins tomorrow for my youngest and he is terribly excited:)
