Take Three: Summer

It time for another Sketch with Sasya! No. 17 to be exact! I really like this one (do I say that every week? *snort*), and I think you will too! It has so many possibilities. I actually made several cards using this LO, so expect to see them in the next few weeks.

Background woodgrain stamp from WPlus9 (I like that this woodgrain stamp is long enough to cover the card lengthwise). Flower images and sentiment from Take Three: Summer by PTI.
SO what do you think? Are you going to play along this week? Lots of prizes, awards, acknowledgements, etc. are up for grabs if you do!

Check out Sasya's Sketches and try it this week!

Thanks for stopping by today, and for the "feel better" wishes you all left me yesterday. I AM doing better, thanks. *smile*

Ughh.

I've been sick. Sicker than I've ever been I think. I managed to keep down a banana last night, but I've not eaten anything since Friday evening. Water and ginger tea have become my meals. I can't even sit up for long periods because I feel ill and dizzy.  I can't wait to shake this bug and get back to life!

Today's card is for Tuesday Throwdown. The challenge this week is black and white with a splash of color! Fun, huh?
I couldn't resist playing with my WPlus9 stamps for this one. I used several images from the Woodgrain Silhouettes set. Sentiment is from Communique Sentiments by PTI. And that amazingly gorgeous ribbon is May Arts from the Practicing Creativity Designs store.

I hope you'll play along with us this week at the Tuesday Throwdown blog. B&W is such fun, especially when you get to throw in a touch of color!

Thanks for stopping by today. I've missed you guys.

Sherrod Studio Blog Hop!

ETA: This post was scheduled...I don't know why blogger doesn't do it sometimes! *grumble*

Morning all! I'm participating in a blog hop today for Sherrod Studios. The owner, Kim, designs really great digital and clear stamps. Her family just went through a really rough time when their home was broken into while they were walking their kids to school. Most of their valuables were stolen, including their computers WITH ALL OF THEIR PHOTOS ON THEM! Can you imagine? *shudder* Not only do they feel violated, but they lost all their precious family memories.

Anyway, Kim and her husband are bouncing back and have decided to re-open their stamp store again, so we're here promoting it! I used the cute little bookworm digi image for this hop. Isn't he adorable?

A prize will be awarded to one commenter at the end of the hop. In order to be eligible you have to comment on EACH participant's Blog Hop post.

Dana (That's me, and you are here!)
Leah
Be sure to visit each of these wonderful ladies' blogs and leave a comment! You could win an entire clear stamp set from Sherrod Studios (or a digital set if you prefer).

Thanks for stopping by!

Leo Davinci

Hey-o! Do you guys ever get so busy that you forget to think?! I've been so crazy lately with a million little things to do that I've not had a lot of crafty time. But that didn't stop me from pulling out the first clear stamps I ever purchased to make this card. I have no idea where I even bought them or who made them, but they are a strange material, different from the cheapo clear stamps, and from the good quality photopolymer kind too. Anyway, the eyes, and the quote here are from that set, and I bought them in 2004! I think they were the only clear stamps on the market at the time!

This card is for Sasya's Sketches #16! Come join us because this sketch is awesome! I had so many ideas I couldn't narrow it down, but time won out and the more simple card crossed the line first! *snort*

We had over 100 entrants this past week for round 15! But there are many opportunities to win, so give it a shot. We pick the 5 favorite works, there is a random winner, and then there are 2 guest designers chosen each week too! That's EIGHT chances to win!~

Won't you join the crowd at Sasya's Sketches this week? Be a sheep! *chuckle*

Thanks for stopping by today, give sketch #16 a try!

Tuesday Throwdown #5

I used my second ever digi stamp with this card? Isn't it adorable? It's called Diaper Pin Baby and it's from Glitter Babes Art Shop.
Glitter Babe is the sponsor for this week's Tuesday Throwdown! The challenge is to use dry embossing on your project. I went with two different cuttlebug embossing folders for my baby card.
I also used an old stencil I had and smooshed ink through it to make those cute pins, bottles and booties on the pale blue strip. In retrospect, I wish they were a bit lower and more visible, but such is art!
Using scor-tape I applied glitter to a thin piece of Orange Zest CS. I love this technique and had been putting off trying it, but am a total convert! The thin silk ribbon was colored with a Copic marker to match the Lemon Tart CS. Some simple stitching and I was done!

Why not join us at Tuesday Throwdown and break out the dry embossing technique! You could win some fabulous prizes from our sponsor, Glitter Babe's Art Shop!

Supplies: Digi stamp from Glitter Babe's Art Shop, sentiment from PTI, CS, ribbon, button from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one friends!

CAS 4u

Good morning everyone! How's your Saturday shaping up? I've done my yoga, had my tea and am planning to do some weeding in the garden in a few. My hubster is helping an elderly neighbor set up for her art show today, so the munchkins will be put to work with me in the garden!

Just a quick, CAS card today. I know it's not my typical forte, but my work is pretty eclectic so why not?!
Stamps are WPlus9 Designs from the Woodgrain Silhouettes set. Ink is ColorBox Chalk ink in Aquamarine. White gel pen traced around the inside of a nestie. After punching two small holes on either side of the stems, I threaded some 1/4 inch white satin ribbon through and tied a bow. The entire card took less than 5 minutes!

Don't forget to enter for a chance to win some PTI blog candy, here. I will draw a name tomorrow night!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

And now for something completely different!

So I went with vintage and a touch shabby on this card but used semi-modern stamps to do so! Who says the two can't mix? *smile*
I was so happy to get this set in the mail from WPlus9 Designs. Such cute stamps! The images and sentiment are from Just a Note. They stamped like a dream.
I purchased two other sets also, but we'll see some of those later, I promise.

This gorgeous rose silk ribbon and vintage ivory crochet trim are from the Practicing Creativity Designs store and are made by May Arts. Luscious I tell ya!

A few black rhinestones, some inking, and rounded corners finished it up!

I also used the canvas/linen impression plate from PTI on the card base, but it doesn't show up in the photograph.

Don't forget to leave a comment on the post below this one for a chance to win some PTI blog candy! You have until 8 PM EST on Sunday night!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good Friday!

Blog Candy time!

Today's card was made for Crumbgrabber's (our kindergardener) teacher. Teacher's Apple is still one of my top five favorite stamp sets ever by PTI. I also used Outlines Alphabet on the black CS for the background. I was hoping it would look like a chalkboard, but maybe the letters are too close together for that...? The green panel was embossed with the Canvas/Linen impression plate from PTI too. Apple was colored with Copics. I was completely inspired by the talented Debbie Olson's card!

So, on to the blog candy, right?!

One lucky commenter will win this:

Yep, their very own Outlines Alphabet set!! My mistake is your win! (I accidentally purchased two Outlines Alphabet sets a few months ago and have been saving it for blog candy. Today is the day!)

All you have to do is jump through 6 burning hoops in your best high heels. Um, no. *chuckle* (unless your name is Ted, then the high heels are mandatory!) *brawaahaaha*
Seriously though, just leave me a comment and I'll have random.org choose a winner Sunday night 8 PM EST.

I appreciate you all so much that I thought it was time to give something back. Thanks for all the times you spent a few minutes reading my posts and leaving me comments. I really appreciate it. MY blog readers are the best!

Thanks everyone,

Funky spooky-ish card

Hello all! This post is scheduled because I'm on the road headed to a 10 hour re-accreditation training today for work. Part of my job involves inspecting large loads of agricultural products that the US exports overseas. I have to be up on the regulations of ALL other countries in the world in order to let our shipments go, so I need to get refresher training every so often because countries are always changing their regs!

This is for Sasya's Sketch #15! Want to play along? Prizes for the best works, random winners, and guest designers are all up for grabs if you do!
Here's the sketch for this week. You have until Tuesday to create a project and link it up at Sasya's Sketches.
I don't remember the stamps I used except for the sentiment, which is from Verve's set, Seeing Stars. The large wordy BG stamp and the tree stamp are wood mounted and I can let anyone who asks know the manufacturer tomorrow. PP from Basic Grey, black leafy stem from Prima, CS from PTI.

Our Kindergardener "graduated" today. I find these ceremonies a bit silly, but I couldn't not take part, so here's a few photos of the happy boy in his new graduation t-shirt and construction paper cap! (he's the smallest kid in school by far...still wears 2T shorts!)

He's a charmer though, and was very proud of his ceremony today.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you play along with us at Sasya's Sketches!

Tuesday Throwdown #4

OK, so I stepped away from my comfort zone and created a card using strange colors and hardly any stamps!
I know you all have been making your own embellishments for a while now, but I was too timid to try it...until now. I made these cute flip flops from some fabric, fun foam, and a few pieces of ribbon.
This card is for today's Tuesday Throwdown!  The challenge is to create a project that celebrates summer. Let's be honest, I wear flip flops year 'round (inside anyway!), but they are generally thought of as summer footwear. *smile*

The sponsor this week is Paper Maniac, and boy do they have some good sales! This week everything Tim Holtz, Ranger Industries and Sizzix Alterations are on sale at 25% off! The prize this week is a $30 gift certificate and INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING! Wowzers!

So here's a silly tutorial showing you just how I made these funky flip flops. Mistakes are included for your viewing pleasure. *grin*

Here's the card again, so you don't have to scroll all the way back up! Whewww.

The sentiment was stamped with the flower stems from Barefoot Summer..cute huh? I used a tiny flower head for the dot in the "i" too. Background stamps are also from Barefoot Summer.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you play along with us for Tuesday Throwdown!

Just a quick post today...I'm so incredibly busy and have no computer time!
I need to catch-up on everyone's blog posts and I will soon! Miss you guys.
