Birthday/Blog-aversary Giveaway

I am 36 today.
I was going to be all reflective and tell you how much my life has changed in just one year, and how I've lost, found, grown, and discovered many things about myself, and blah blah blah and all that drivel.
BORING.
Instead, I want to celebrate!
*grin*

So I'm having a give away.
My blog just turned 6 years old in January, and I'm 36 today... that's a difference of 30.
I'm offering a $30 gift certificate to your choice of stamp companies below.
(Don't you like my reasoning? *hee hee*)

or

Yes, I "work" for both of them.
But hear me out..
I honestly like their products, and I think they are run by INCREDIBLE people with hearts of gold who are just the nicest, most generous, family oriented folks I know. They make me feel important and like a valued member of a team. They really do care about others and show it in many ways. Oh, and their customer service is top notch.
Plus, it's my $30 *wink*

Here's the fine print:
  1. Leave me a comment (making sure I can contact you through email), telling me you follow my blog already, or are now following it. (for one chance)
  2. Leave a second comment telling me you "like" Denami on FB. (for another chance)
  3. Leave a third comment telling me you "like" Casual Friday Stamps on FB. (for a third chance)
  4. Or if you don't want to follow anything, just leave me a comment telling me whatever is in your head, as long as it's clean and PG *chuckle*  (for one chance)
I will draw a winner next week, and announce it here on March 22. Same time, same bat channel:) The winner will then have three days to contact me before I draw another one.
 Best of Luck!

Thanks for stopping by and celebrating my birthday and blog anniversary with me!
I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with new things.

fondly,

Blog-aversary giveaway!

Happy birthday to this blog!
As of today I've been blogging for five years (since January 2007).
There have been happy times, sad events, yummy food, lulls in posting, and lots of stamping.
 *smile*
In honor of all the amazing friends I've made through the years, and the friendships that have developed because of this incredible hobby, I want to give something back...

Let's have a giveaway, shall we?

WAYS TO WIN:
1. Follow my blog by clicking "JOIN" over on the left, and leave me a comment letting me know you are now (or already are) a follower.

2. Leave a comment suggesting a great book to read.

3. Do both of the above for two entries!

I totally get that some folks may not want to follow yet another blog, so it's not required to enter, but if you do follow me or begin to follow me I will appreciate you and love you to pieces, so those of you who do will get an extra entry!

What could you win?
Your choice of a $20 gift certificate to one of the stores below:

A winner will be chosen and announced 1 week from today on February 7.

And just because it's fun, lets look at a card I posted way back when I first started this blog in 2007. Ha!

I can see all the ways I'd change this card now, but that's the beauty of growth and changing styles, right?  Boy was I into DTP inking! *grin*

So thanks for stopping by, and be sure to leave a comment about your favorite book and/or follow me to enter the giveaway. You have until next Monday to enter!

Here's to many more years of online stamping and blogging fun!

Make it Monday and a WINNER!

I've been so busy I haven't had a lot of time to blog lately, but then I remembered that I was remiss in posting the winner of my Anniversary Giveaway! YIKES! Without further ado:

Christy Compton Hall wins a $25 gift certificate to her choice of stamp companies listed in the original post.
Congratulations Christy!  Send me an email so I can have the GC sent directly to you! Please include your mailing address to receive the card I made too.
(Winner chosen from all eligible entries by random.org.)

This card was created for the new Make It Monday challenge that Papertrey Ink is hosting. This week it was a "go-to sentiment" card. I really enjoyed this challenge from Erin and I can't wait to make a few more of these sentiment only cards. Great idea Erin!
I used PTI's Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Stamper's select white, and kraft to create this sweet baby card.  I also used seven different stamp sets on this one! A little Argyle, Outlines Alphabet, Signature Greetings, Bitty Baby Blessings, Favor it:Baby, Night Night Moon, and Round and Round (last year's anniversary set).

The crinkle ribbon was a gift from Sherry. She makes the most beautiful colors of this stuff. This one happened to match Blueberry Sky perfectly! Thanks Sherry!

Thanks for stopping by today bloggy friends. I have been remiss in blog-hopping and promise to catch up soon! Miss you all...

Blog Candy time!

Today's card was made for Crumbgrabber's (our kindergardener) teacher. Teacher's Apple is still one of my top five favorite stamp sets ever by PTI. I also used Outlines Alphabet on the black CS for the background. I was hoping it would look like a chalkboard, but maybe the letters are too close together for that...? The green panel was embossed with the Canvas/Linen impression plate from PTI too. Apple was colored with Copics. I was completely inspired by the talented Debbie Olson's card!

So, on to the blog candy, right?!

One lucky commenter will win this:

Yep, their very own Outlines Alphabet set!! My mistake is your win! (I accidentally purchased two Outlines Alphabet sets a few months ago and have been saving it for blog candy. Today is the day!)

All you have to do is jump through 6 burning hoops in your best high heels. Um, no. *chuckle* (unless your name is Ted, then the high heels are mandatory!) *brawaahaaha*
Seriously though, just leave me a comment and I'll have random.org choose a winner Sunday night 8 PM EST.

I appreciate you all so much that I thought it was time to give something back. Thanks for all the times you spent a few minutes reading my posts and leaving me comments. I really appreciate it. MY blog readers are the best!

Thanks everyone,

We have a winner!

Random.org generated a winner for the blog candy this morning (ok, so it wasn't quite at 9AM EST, but it was close).

Random Integer Generator
Here are your random numbers:
30
Timestamp: 2007-10-27 13:38:45 UTC

So Kristina, you are the winner! I will email you this morning!

Her comment: Kristina said...
I agree with many other posters about masculine sets that don't include hunting, sports, cars etc. Something more modern! I am always in need of sympathy sets that says something besides with deepest sympathy and not a flower! Maybe something a bit more modern looking. Thanks for a chance at the blog candy!ruok72@gmail.com

WOW, so many of you want some fresh, modern masculine stamps. Really, these stamp companies need to get on the ball!
Thanks for playing everyone, I think this was the most comments I've ever gotten in 9 months of blogging!

BLOG CANDY TIME!

OK, I've been meaning to giveaway some fun stuff for awhile now, so today is the day!
Here's the loot:
A brand new 6x6 pack of Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding holiday paper, and ONE of the two yet un-released stamp sets from Verve Visual! The newest stamps from Verve will be debuting November 10 and you will want them both! Win one of them here!
Here's what you need to do to win:
1. Leave a comment on THIS post, telling me what stamps you'd like to see in the future. Something that isn't already out there, that you've been looking for. Crazy, weird, normal, anything goes, just let me know what you'd like to see!
2. Make sure your email will be available to me on your comment. Either through clicking your name link, or by actually typing it in. I can't track you down if you leave an anonymous comment!
3. I will randomly generate a winner from all the comments on Saturday morning, October 27th at 9 AM EST.

*As an additional bonus, you could win the OTHER new stamp set from Verve by commenting on my pal Shannan's blog candy giveaway, HERE! How cool is that?!

And now onto today's card. It is the anniversary card for my brother and his wife!
I started with a strip of PP from the new Figgy Pudding Basic Grey pack (NOT the one I'm giving away up above, I promise!) and chose my CS and ink colors from that.
All stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I love this cake set, it's so versatile!
Sky blue and white CS, sky blue ink, and ribbon are from SU, Brown CS is Bazzill. Ink is Colorbox brown, versamagic blue, and Memories darker brown.
I used a white gel pen to color in the centers of the flowers and then used a glitter gel pen when it was dry. They really sparkle nicely, but not in this photo.

Today is my friend Julie's Birthday. Stop by her blog and let her know that turning 30 is AWESOME! (She makes incredible cards and altered projects too, so check them out while you are there!)

New stamps

I received my prize from Julee (at Poetic Artistry) for winning her card contest/sketch challenge. See here for full list of winners and some gorgeous cards!

She sent me a fun Bella card...my first one ever! Isn't it adorable? I love the BG paper and the row of tiny white dots she applied on the edge. And look at the actual prize! An entire set of AMUSE stamps! I can't wait to start creating with them.

Thank you Julee!

Happy Mail!

Don't you love it when packages arrive in the mail? I received a big box of goodies from Craft Critique last night! I'd almost forgotten that I won some blog candy there a week or so ago. This box was PACKED. I mean, stuffed-so-full-it's-hard-to-open packed! I couldn't even take a picture of everything at once.
I got my first beaded pen! It was made to match the journal and they are both so cute. I like how the pen feels too. You'd never know it was covered with tiny little beads. I could get used to this! See that adorable red mailbox too? Isn't it fun looking? There were a few stamps, a bunch of fun fibers, lots of stickers, a scrapbooking calander type thing that looks like it will be neat, photocorners, bags of die-cuts, clips, ribbon, a mini stapler, embellishments, and I could go on and on!

Thank you very much Sarah! I was so amazed by the blog candy you sent, that I had to sit right down and make a thank you card. Nothing like a little inspiration, right?
I'll post the card after she receives it. I wanted to use one of the stamps she sent me, but I was so excited that I just ran to my studio and started working! Not even thinking about the lovely rubber I left sitting on the dining room table where I emptied the box. *sheesh*

We have a winner!

The winner was drawn by our oldest foster son this morning at 9:04 Am. He's home sick from school today and I made him get off the couch to pick a name! Don't you love his camouflage feety pajamas? The winner is JEN!
Here's her comment: "something crazy about me.....I played Rugby in college :o) Short lived but I loved it. my partner in VSN crime, dawnmercedes referred me...so give her an extra entry OK!"
Congratulations Jen, send me your mailing address and your package will be on it's way tomorrow morning! I was surprised actually that Allison or Dawn didn't win. They each had a ton of entries through referrals. Just goes to show that there is no rhyme or reason in drawing a name from a bowl!

Thanks for playing everyone. I had fun reading all those crazy facts about you! Some were crazier than others though! And oddly enough, quite a few of them could have applied to me too. Does that mean I'm REALLY crazy? *grin* (BTW Claudia F, my mom and brother both have webbed toes too!)

There has to be something wonderful about Monday's, right? So here it is! Blog Candy!

Abundance

Remember this post, where I mentioned that I won some blog candy? Well I received a bountiful package in the mail this weekend from Sarah Fishburn. Not only did she send me the collaged heart pendant, but some other great things as well!A neat card that she obviously created (it has an old pic of her mom and her aunt on it!), a fun, colorful ATC, a beautiful journal made in Nepal with hand made papers, a large collaged magnet and 3 tiny collaged pins! WOW. I stuck the magnet on my filing cabinet at work and already a few people have commented on it. The best thing about the pendant is that it has two sides.

Isn't it gorgeous? My favorite color is orange so I've been wearing that side out since I got it, but tomorrow I am planning my shirt around the colors on the other side. LOL!
Thank you so much Sarah for having a blog giveaway, I'm delighted that I won!

February 12, 2007

Blog candy!

Nope. Not FROM me...FOR me! I actually WON some blog candy! I mean, I never win anything. Ever. And boy has my luck been down lately. *shaking head*

I found out that I won an incredible piece of art by Sarah Fishburn. She is an amazing artist. I go to her blog just to drool! It's a collaged heart pendant and she actually sells them at Whole Foods! I know you want to see them, so check them out here. I can't wait till it arrives! I was thinking I might give it away as a gift, but I've changed my mind (without even having seen it), and intend to wear it every day to remind myself to create SOME form of art always.

The second blog candy I won was from Craft Critique. This place is really great. It's like the consumer reports of the crafting world. No advertising, just honest, unsolicited advice on crafting tools, products, and supplies. I read their article on the Crop-a-dile today and it was just what I was looking for! I'm not sure what I won yet...it was a secret. But it's a whole BOX full of goodies! Read about it here, and bookmark this blog, because you will return often to read the reviews!

This whole winning thing had done wonders for my mood. I just might have to offer some blog candy of my own! Stay tuned to see...*wink*
