This is the birthday card that went out in the mail this morning to my SIL. I made it weeks ago and have been keeping it under wraps because I know she reads my blog, but I figured that because her BD was yesterday, it was okay to post it now! I don't know why the two photos look different, they were taken in the same light, but one is warmer, the other is clearer, so I'm posting both. I added some stickles glitter to the bird's wing and tail but it's not visible in either photo...bummer. I hope you will like it Jenny!
SUPPLIES: Bird and flower stamps by Rhonna Farr, sentiment stamps by Papertrey Ink, PP is Basic Grey, CS is SU, ink is Ranger archival, and Versamagic chalk ink, stickles were used on the bird but aren't visible in the photos, brads are Joanns, white gel pen is Sakura for faux stitching.

Oh, wow! Oh, Dana. It is so beautiful. I just love the colors! And that little bird is just too cute!! Thank you. I know you invested a lot of time into it. Tell Stickyfingers I can't wait to see his, too! Give him and Crumbgrabber a hug for me. Tell that husband of yours I miss him (and that I managed to cook dinner without burning the house down)!
This is awesome...I love that bird and on the Basic Grey paper, he rocks!
Oh, this is just fabulous! I love the colors, the paper, the layout....everything.
Dana...I found your site through mine...hee hee! Thanks so very much for the kind comments...I wanted to check out your blog and WOW...you do awesome work. I really love your cards. The colors on the bird ones especially! I love your work and will be visiting often.
Beautiful work, as usual.
I'm curious to know how long it generally takes you to make a card. I make cards that are not nearly as involved as yours, and sometimes it feels like they take me forever! It's a hobby I enjoy, but honestly, I wish I could speed up the process a bit so I feel like I'm accomplishing more. Maybe that would compensate for the mess it makes! :-)
Hey Ewokgirl, thanks for the compliment!
I spend the most time on the design or layout of a card, after that, it all goes together quickly, or...quickly for me at least! This paticular card took me three days I think actually. I worked on it for a few minutes (15) each night until it was done. And sometimes if a card isn't coming together for me, I walk away and come back to it a day or more later. That always helps to get my mojo flowing again.
Some card take me 1/2 an hour to do, start to finish. Others might take me 3 hours or more.
Okay, now I feel a little better about how long my cards take me! ;-)
Love the bird stamp and the color combo. I always love to see what kind of PP you will incorporate in your designs. ;)
