Tuesday Throwdown #2

Hello friends! Did everyone in the states have a nice long holiday? We really had such beautiful weather here. We even brought out the slip-n-slide!

It's time for another Tuesday Throwdown and I'm excited about this week's challenge because it's Trees or Nature themed. I love trees. *sigh* Especially this gorgeous tree stamp from Waltzing Mouse Stamps. I love that the leafy part is separate.

ETA: Here's how I made this card.
1. Using the Woodgrain impression plate from PTI,  emboss your card front.
2. Ink up the tree top (and small piece of tree top too) using several colors of green ink pads (for more realistic looking color) and stamp on white CS. Cut out.
3. After matting your focal point panel, ink tree trunk with 2 colors of brown ink and lightly place stamp face down onto the woodgrain BG stamps  from PTI to create a pattern on your trunk. Lift up gently and immediately stamp onto your focal panel.
4. Stamp the tree top in greens onto your focal panel too, ignoring how it will hang over...that will be covered up by the cut out piece you stamped.
5. Using pop dots, adhere the tree tops that you previously stamped and cut out.
6. Add sentiment, some inked edges and ribbon. Pop up entire focal panel onto card base.

If you want to play along, create your project and link it up at the Tuesday Throwdown blog to win some fun prizes. This week's sponsor is Christian Paper Crafts. Hope to see your submission on the TT blog soon!

OH, and be sure to stop by Courtney's blog later this morning for a sneak peek at the newest Practicing Creativity Designs set!  Can you guess what it might be? I just know you are all going to love it! Take a guess for a chance to win your own set as soon as it is released on June 6!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one.

Oh, that's beautiful! I love hoe the ribbon seems to mimic the tree in some ways. The leaves being separate from the tree are good, too, since it allow you greater ease in coloring. I love the colors you used, too. Great card!

Hi Dana,

I absolutely LOVE this card! I just received my Asian Gardens stamp set yesterday in the mail. What perfect timing!! Is there anyway possible that you could post the instructions for the card? I've enlarged it on my computer and keep studying it, but it would be great to actually have the exact methods and materials you used. Thanks!
