CAS-ual Friday!

Oh my goodness!
You challenge players have outdone yourselves!
We had 242 participants to last week's Clean & Simple BLING challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
What a turnout. *whew*
I'm still commenting on your work even now!

But today is the beginning of a new challenge...

Yes, it's that time of year, so lets see those graduation cards!
Pre-school right on through to Graduate school.
We want to see what you have up your sleeves (or should that be cap and gown?) *chuckle*

The sponsor this week is Market Street Stamps, and they have some really fun sets.

This card is going out to my bestie, who just graduated with her
Master of Public Administration from Binghamton University!
Congrats Mary, I'm so proud of you!

So, celebrate the accomplishments of those you know and love
by linking your clean and simple graduation card to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge!

Thanks for stopping by friends, it's FRIDAY!
Hat and sentiment by PTI, nestie frame by WaltzingMouse. Twine from the Twinery, and CB folder.

Wordless wedded bliss

It is strange how different Spring Moss looks in different lighting situations.

This wedding card was based on a similar one by the lovely and talented Dawn.
Thanks for stopping by today,

I love giraffes

Yes, it's true.
I love giraffes.

But I also love Denami kraft colored buttons too!
(although they aren't called "kraft" on their site, they match it perfectly)

I made this card for the Denami product spotlight.
This little giraffe stole my heart and I couldn't resist
stamping him multiple times.
And he (or she!) is 10% off this week, so grab him/her while you can!
This card went out to my nephew Nicholas, and his significant other who are expecting again!
Their first daughter, my great-niece Evelyn, is adorable
and I like to think I'm not too terribly biased. *wink*

I took a picture of her this past weekend with my phone.
Cute, right? *smile*

Be sure to stop by the Denami Blog and see all the cutie-patootie
cards made for the Product Spotlight!
You won't want to miss this giraffe in all his/her glory!

Thanks for stopping by,

CAS-ual Friday!

Thank goodness it's Friday!

And that means it's time for another Clean & Simple Challenge
Thanks to everyone who played this past week---what a great turnout!
Woo hoo!
This week's challenge is all about the bling.  Yes, BLING!

You all know that I am terrible at actually USING
the rhinestones that I purchase and hoard,
and I tried...
honestly I did.
Alas, I just could NOT add more than three to my card.
*sigh*
I know I know.
I'm working on it.

This BD card goes out to my pal Bobbie, the sweetest paper crafter I know. She turns...29 is it today darling? *wink wink*

Our CAS challenge is sponsored this week by Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker!

We had so many awesome entries this past week
and I really LOVED checking them out.
It's so fun to find new blogs and see new designs!

So if you are feeling the sparkle and want to create
something with shine and glam
check out the bling challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great weekend!

Trend spotting

Just popping in quickly with a card I created for the
Cath is so good at spotting trends and the chevron image
seems to be popping up everywhere lately.

I actually have a couple of chevron stamps, but wanted to step outside the BOLD, GRAPHIC chevron to find something a bit more subtle.
so...
I SEWED my chevron stripes!
*chuckle*
(and not very well I might add...)
Brown thread on aqua PP looks great,
but not if I'M the one doing the stitching! LOL

Stamps are from the Kim Hughes collection by
(the now defunct) Cornish Heritage Farms. All CS, PP, and ribbon/twine by PTI
Lace border die by MFT.

I also tried to simply cut a tiny chevron border freehand, like
(I only use mine on material, NEVER paper *shudder*),
but it doesn't look anywhere near as good!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!

Sketch challenge

Good morning friends!
How is everyone?

Isn't this card fun? I made it for a sketch challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts
And guess what?
I DESIGNED THE SKETCH! Woot Woot! Wanna see?

 Fun, huh?
For my card, I used digital stamps from our sponsor,  The Cutting Cafe,
and can I just say how adorable this bicycle is? Love
They also sell really nifty cutting files and I can't wait to get my hands on some.

The cutting cafe blinkie

If you feel like joining us and playing with my sketch,
check out the Card Challenges at Simply Scrapping Crafts!
The winner of this week's challenge gets three digital files from our sponsor! YAY!

Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all to pieces!

Product challenge

Hi everyone!
Is it raining by you?
We are so tired of the rain and are longing for some warm sunny weather here. Our small town keeps losing power and it drives me batty! *chuckle*

I wanted to pop in and show you this card I made
for the product challenge happening over at Denami right now.
 Isn't it cute?
I based the LO on an older sketch from CPS...one from 2008 I think!

Denami sells lots of cute patterned paper, and I love that they sell it not only
in individual packs, but combined and cut down to size too.
You can see here that I am using three different PPs, all from the Paige Sampler Pack.
The fun textured cardstock (sky blue & magenta) is also from Denami, as is the sentiment stamp and the lime button!
The felt is PTI, and the die I used to make the daisy flower is from MFT (but I think it's out of stock right now).

Go check out what the rest of the DT has created showcasing the fabby PP that Denami carries!

Thanks for stopping by today,
*mwah*

(if your OCD is cringing because of my crooked sentiment, you are not alone! Mine is too. Darn those pop dots.)

CAS-ual Fridays (finally)

Isn't it amazing how dependent we've become on our blogs? *smile* What a relief it is to be ABLE to blog after being denied that privilege for 36 hours!

Today's card is for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge that was supposed to go live early today, but  should be up ASAP. This week's theme is a good one!

Yep, buttons and twine.
Who doesn't have a ton of both in their arsenal of supplies?! *wink*
I used my GORGEOUS Denami kraft colored buttons for this one and some fun twine from the Twinery.

Denami is actually our sponsor this week and I love showing off their goodies...such good quality, ya know. I just love their kraft buttons! I also love the colors of aqua and terracotta together...such good contrast, don't you think?

Join us for all the fun and hoopala associated with the challenges at CAS-ual Fridays! YOU could be our next winner! EEEEK!

Thanks for stopping by,

Smile!

I'm posting today with a cute card using Denami's Octopus.
It's Product Spotlight Day and this little guy truly makes me smile!

I paired him with the wavy dots and I think it looks like seaweed a bit, don't you?
Because the Octopus has this cute smile I couldn't resist adding the sentiment from Heartfelt Greetings.

I love Denami's textured CS...I used Amethyst, Lime, and Leaf Green on this card, and a few if Denami's cool lime boutique buttons too!

All this week he is 10% off, so get him while you can!

Thanks for stopping by,

Goodness

So I got together this past weekend with some other stamping fanatics and online friends and we had a blast!  It was so nice to be with folks who "get" cardmaking and stamping.

Although I spent most of that time chatting and getting acquainted with my supplies, I did manage to get three cards made. *hangs head in shame* yeah...only three.
And this one was the hardest. It just wasn't working for me, so I would put it aside and come back to it later only to discover I couldn't "fix" it. *grumble*

Finally, Tara, genius that she is, suggested stamping the same BG again in white, instead of in a darker ink like I had planned. LOVE the way it looks 3D now...the lighter berry ink underneath and to the right of the white ink makes it look really neat.

Good friends, good food, good conversation + stamps = FABULOUS TIME!
Thanks Tara, Belinda, Jennifer (with the beautiful hair), Pat, and Kirsty for a great time.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Blog Hop with Shrink Plastic!

It's time for the Denami Design Blog Hop again!
This month's theme is "Girlie Girl!"
You should have arrived here from Colleen's blog, but if you get lost just go back to the beginning.

I went all out for this one and created some jewelry for one of my great-nieces.
Yep...jewelry with Denami stamps!

See those tiny teddy bears and beads on the bottom of my card?
It's actually a bracelet and I used Shrink Film to make it
!
The Teddy Bear image was perfect for making charms. But I wanted to add a bit more to my card so I used the small Heart Pair, and two sentiments from the Heartfelt Greetings set. All CS, ribbon, and buttons are also Denami products...they have everything!

You can see here I stamped the teddy bear on 2 different kinds of shrink plastic, Clear and Matte. I also stamped them with both brown and black Memento ink to see which looked better once it had shrunk, and colored them with Copic markers.

Look how cute that tiny charm is! I love these pink teddys!

I put the bracelet on to show you that I created 5 tiny teddy bear charms, but only 4 are visible here. The bracelet is sized for a little girl, so it was stretched tightly on my own adult wrist! *chuckle*

Your next stop on the Hop is DEBBIE'S BLOG!
Be sure to comment on each participant's post for a chance at one of TWO $20 Gift Certificates from Denami!

I am officially addicted to stamping with shrink plastic now. More will be coming for sure.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a good one!

It's FRIDAY!

Yay for Casual Fridays
Are you wearing jeans to work today? No? Me neither...I have to wear my uniform...blah.*frown*
But at least it is the end of the work week, and
the
WAIT.
IS.
OVER!

Today is the FIRST challenge ever issued by the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog... TEXTING.
 Woo hoo!

Get out your supplies, put on your thinking caps, and show us your mad texting skilz!
*chuckle*
Use text in any form you can dream up; PP, stamps, embellishments, etc.
I used a piece of aged text PP and a simple sentiment from PTI, against an alpha impression plate. Some melon, kraft, and vintage cream CS all aged with tea dye ink, and pulled together with antique brads finished it off.

What does "texting" mean to you?
Link up your project at the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a chance at an awesome prize from our sponsor, Crop Stop,

and the possibility of a super-special CAS-ual Fridays blog badge! The winner also gets bragging rights as the FIRST CAS-ual Fridays challenge winner ever! YE-HAW!

Go check out what the talented "Girl Fridays" have created just for you. You won't regret it.

See you there peeps!

CASEing myself

Hi friends!
In an attempt to get a head start on my school-end thank yous I CASEd myself and created this card.
The original can be seen here, from last June. I changed things up a bit by adding more stitching and using the alpha impression plate and notebook border.
Red and green are hard colors for me to put together without it looking too holiday-ish, but Teacher's Apple is a great set and it works somehow!

I also want to remind you that our first CAS-ual Fridays challenge is coming up tomorrow! Are you excited to play along?
I think there is a contest happening at the Facebook fan page too so go check it out for a chance to win some prizes! And be sure to leave a comment saying that DANA sent you!

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow to see my first post with CAS-ual Fridays!

Bridal Shower masking

Morning all!

How've you been? This has been the most insane busy, hectic week in a long time for me! Thankfully I have something super sweet to look forward to this weekend...a stamping retreat with some PTI forum friends! So excited!!!!

Today's card was made for the newest card challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts. MASKING!
I'd forgotten how fun masking could be. Don't these umbrellas look cute?

This card was for a customer. A MIL of the bride to be asked for a fun, happy shower card and told me to use Kelly green, red, orange, and yellow. It's larger, an A6 size. Stamps used: Scattered Showers.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!
