We have a prodigy!

Last night while in my studio, our 7 year old foster son came in and asked to see what I was doing. He likes to stand next to me while I work and just watch, but he kept chattering, so I needed to find something for him to do! I told him to go get his 'art box' and he could sit at the other desk and create something too. I gave him my box of paper punches, and a small pile of adornments and stickers that I have no use for. So he happily got to work. I could hear him humming and singing little songs to himself, and once or twice he asked me a "design" question, or for some adhesive. When he was finished, he showed me this.Isn't it great? I was so impressed with how he made the flowers different heights, and after making crayon leaves he obviously saw my leaf punch and changed it a bit. The pink rimmed note card is from a set I gave him a long time ago. What makes this card so adorable (that you can't see here), is the fact that he made this picture upside down! The card opens at the top! He was very upset when he realized it, but I reassured him that no one would mind, and that it's good to be different. He's decided that he's going to send it to his aunt.
I told him I would post it on my blog today and he became VERY excited. "You mean, your friends will see it too?" I assured him that, if they wanted, the whole world could view his card and he about fainted with glee. *smile* Kids are so happy to please.

WOW!!!! I love your card! Very good job! I hope your mom lets you make more cards! You should try to participate in Virtual Stamp Night (on SplitCoastStampers) this Friday & Saturday - there are some 'challenges' just for kids. Ask your mom to tell you more about it. Thanks for letting your mom show this to us!*high 5!*

Hay, you cute little 7 year old! I think you are an artist and I know you journal so you must be an author also. That means you can write your story and then draw the pictures too. Some day you may be on the best seller list! love you the building mom
