No sneak peaks here!

I've been hard at work in my studio this weekend and can't WAIT until I can share some of my projects with you! The new releases from Verve Visual will knock your socks off! *giggle*
Alas, I can't give you a sneak peak just yet, so I'm sharing a card I made weeks ago that was relegated to the "crap" pile.
I have trouble using pastels unless they are on a baby card, so I challenged myself to use them for an everyday theme. I hardly ever use purple, don't know why, I love purple, I just don't seem to use it on cards very often. While this card seemed to be coming together easily, once it was done I was not happy with it. For starters, you can see the glue through the tiny purple grosgrain ribbon, the piercing around the edge of the center piece is crooked, and the same center piece needs another color of CS (maybe black?) behind it to mat it from the base. And then the fun rippled green ribbon started to unravel at the ends AFTER I adhered it!

Anyway, the point is to enjoy what you do, right? This card was lots of fun and outside of my comfort zone, so it meets the requirements even if I NEVER send it out! I had fun using my Verve Visual stamps to create the spikey flowers and stems, and the sentiments both seemed to fit right in. Aren't the eyelets in the center fun? You know...I think this one might be salvageable if I tweek it a bit! *wink*

I am assuming that "crap" MUST mean something TOTALLY different in the USA, cos if that is your version of "crap" then there is no hope for the rest of us lol!

I love this card, the colours, the eyelets, all of it. and as Flossie says if you did not point out that stuff that you don't like then no-one would notice.

Tis fab. Trust me!

This is very cute! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind words behind! I did color the stamp with stampin' up markers and it took FOREVER! I would love to make more, but since this one took so long this will be a one time card! I got the color combo from the stampin' up new color combo sheet. Thanks again and I will be sure to stay tuned for the new Verve Visual releases!

Best,

Melissa

Dana, this card is UBER cool! I love the concept, the layout and all the details. Sometimes we're our own worst critic. I love your startburst flowers with eyelets!

OMG! You used the Thoughtful Phrases line for a flower stem, a very funky and cool flower stem. LOVE the colors with those retro looking flowers. I think this is great. I hear ya on the glue and ribbon though. I either attach my ribbon only to the back of the layer, or occassionally will use glue dots.

I love this. The colors are great.
And I would LOVE to go to a party on the 13th!! In fact, I think I'm going to become known as the Drunken Chef at that party.

Okay.. if THIS is the card you 'were' going to send to me it better be in the mail baby!!!!

I can honestly say this with all seriousness...

I just LOVE your CRAP! Wish I could make CRAP like that... my CRAP is really rather CRAPPY so I'm a bit jealous of your CRAP! The only kind of CRAP I make is when I'm in a CRAPPY mood and I use my CRAPINESS to make other ppl CRAPPY... but luckily that CRAPPY mood doesn't rear it's CRAPPY head very often... whew!

Okay.. I'm done CRAPPIN' right now and I LOVE that CRAPPY CARD!! In fact, I think I will go BLOG ABOUT IT'S CRAPPINESS right now on my blog!
hehehe

I need to get outta this CRAPPY house more often.
