Christmas Trees

Happy Saturday!
We went and cut down our tree last night, so I will be spending the day decorating. This is WAY early for us, as we normally don't get our tree until 2 weeks before Christmas, but the weather has been treacherous so we are trying to get a head start.

These are just some simple cards that I made and sold as boxed sets for the fundraiser at my children's school last month. I ended up making 104 cards (not all this designs) and sold all but one box of 6! The school was happy, because of course they received the money, and being a very small private school, they need all the help they can get.

All supplies PTI, except black ink which is Ranger Archival, of course! (Won't use anything else!)

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!

A Rising Star

So did you get a chance to purchase your new PCD stamps last night? I'm sure there are still some left this morning if you didn't. *wink*

I made this card using both Look Up! and Look Up! Additions, and had so much fun coloring those hot air balloons. Isn't that sentiment the best? I love, love, love the perfect sayings in the new set. They are so appropriate!

Unlike genius Amy, I hand cut my curved banners (WHY?!?!?!), but you can bet your patooty that I will use the scalloped border die from PTI in the future! I'm a fast learner, I am!

Be sure to stop by Courtney, Karen, Paulina, Amy, Valerie, and Vanessa's blogs to see more yummy samples using these fun stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today friends, have a good Friday!

Nature's Wonder Sneak Peek

No tricks today, I promise! *smile*

Just a straightforward peek at the other new set being released at midnight tonight by Practicing Creativity Designs
This is a much requested follow-up to Karen's highly popular Christmas Wonder set, and I have to say it is in my top 10 favorite stamp sets of all time!

I love the true, organic feel to the stem/grass images. They are so realistic and natural that I can't seem to stop using them. And that large open font? LOVE IT.

So what do you think? Pretty, isn't it?

Am I allowed to say that? *looks around in curious wonder*
Well, that's why we stampers do what we do, right? Because WE love it! *silly grin*

Be sure to check out all the other sneak peeks by the DT:

It's time for a peek at Practicing Creativity's newest release!

you say these stamps aren't new?
Oh well, you're correct!
Mea Culpa...I posted the wrong card...

Tee hee! Fooled you, didn't I?
So did you guess from all the hints yesterday that there would be a "sequel" to one of PCD's sets? Look Up! now has a Look Up! Additions!
Super fun new balloon images, an interactive rounded banner, and even more perfect sentiments!
( I love the sentiment here, "You always lift my spirits" and know that I will use it frequently.)

This card is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week to embellish it! We were sponsored by the Pixie Cottage who designs some wonderful images both rubber and digital like this adorable guy...named Blanco!

I'm alive and well (finally)

Yes I'm alive.
For all you sweet, sweet folks who emailed me, called me, texted me, sent me cards, and thought about me...I thank you.

This has always been an emotionally rough time of year for me (Both my FIL and my Dad died in the month of November), but the death of my 22 year old niece this year really threw a wrench in the spirit of Thanksgiving. She will be missed.

I have also just gotten over a severe illness in which I could only keep down water for several days. (On the pus side, I lost quite a few pounds! *grin*)

I whipped up this wedding card for my youngest's first grade teacher. She got married over Thanksgiving break and all of the moms in the class got together and purchased gifts and threw a surprise party for her.
I used Wedding Day and Giga Guidelines. The large poofy flower was just some punched scallop circles that I crumpled up and stacked together.
Here's the inside. I love that sentiment from Birthday Basics!

If you are looking for a good deal today, Practicing Creativity Designs is having an AMAZING Cyber Monday Sale today. All stamp sets are only $10!!!!!!! So if you've been wanting that one particular set, now is the BEST time to get it!

Thanks for stopping by today, and for all the love and support you've been showering me with. I am truly blessed to call you all my friends!

Big Hugs,

You color my world

Yes. I admit it. It's been an entire week since I posted, BUT...I have been stamping up a storm while I've been missing, so that's okay, right? Right?

I've made 14 sets of boxed Christmas cards for the charity auction I'm chairing this week!
Each set has at least 5, most have 6. SO that means I've created somewhere between 70-84 cards! *exhausted sigh*

Anyway, this card is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week to incorporate Buttons & Bows onto your project.

We were sponsored by Dee Dee's Digis, which I've come to adore! Look at the adorable crayon box and crayons I've used. Isn't it darling? I requested this digital stamp set weeks ago and it was not easy to add a bow to my project as this was going to be for a male, but I think the floss worked, don't you?

If you add buttons AND bows to your card, consider joining us for Tuesday Throwdown this week!
Once this Christmas Bazaar is over I will have more time for regular posting.
Miss you all!

ETA: My niece Kaylah was killed in a car accident this morning, please keep her family in your thoughts.

Crabby Cuteness

I know, I know..."cute" is not my style, but for this week's Tuesday Throwdown challenge we were to incorporate inchies onto our card and this little crabby guy fit the bill!

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Catherine Pooler, independent SU demo. She sent us all these fun supplies to use including cardstock, PP, ribbon, buttons, and even stamps! So everything you see above is courtesy of SU and Catherine Pooler.

I stamped my crabby guy on various papers and CS and then colored him in with a white gel pen! DO you have any stamps that would make good inchies? If so, join us this week for Tuesday Throwdown and see what you can win!

I made my LO fit the 2S4Y Laura's Sketch 65, only I elooooongated it! *grin*

Just popping in to show you one last card I made for the release of Rejoice and Everyday Prints at Practicing Creativity Designs. They were released at midnight...did you get yours already?

Today is my hubster's birthday (Yes, I married a Scorpio...WHAT was I thinking???*grin*) and he asked for a German chocolate cake, so after work I have to rush home and quickly make one! I'm using Trisha Yearwood's recipe. She apparently makes it for Garth each year on HIS birthday, so it must be good, right?

Here's the inside of my card:

I used the star burst images from Rejoice! along with two quotes. And ironically enough, although I hate the color red, I was pleased with they way this card turned out! The black twill looks so good in real life.

So thanks for sticking with me this week for my PCD sneak peeks, even though I've had absolutely NO time for blog hopping and commenting. I can't wait to play catchup this weekend and see all your fabulous creations!!!

Christmas Banner

Howdy all!
I couldn't resist using Everyday Prints to make this super festive banner!
It just came together so quickly and easily with a few pieces of fabric tape in between each tag. Of course I had to heat emboss "joy" with gold e.p. to make it really stand out, but it didn't take long because I stamped them all at the same time on the same sheet of CS!

Here's a bigger picture so you can see the entire banner.

Terrible lighting, I know, but it's my upstairs foyer and there is only one window on this side.
Know what my favorite part of this banner is? The adorable little Christmas trees in the top section! They are just too cute!

Now that I realize just how simple it is to make a banner using these easy-to-cut-out tag images I can't wait to make one for other occasions too! How about New Year's with blue and gold? Or St. Valentine's Day with pink and purple and the words "Love You"?
Eeeek, I'm already excited about the myriad of possibilities!

Be sure to stop by Karen, Paulina, and Courtney's blogs to see all the other projects the DT created for this release. You won't be disappointed!

Both Rejoice and Everyday Prints will be released at midnight tonight at Practicing Creativity Designs so be there or be square! *giggle*

Let me know what you all think,

Everyday Prints!

I'm glad so many of you liked the PCD sneak peek of Rejoice! Thanks for commenting and letting me know what you thought. I appreciate and read each one!

Today's peek is at a really fun, interactive set called Everyday Prints. You can make the cutest tags by mixing and matching sentiments to your heart's desire with these stamps!

And Courtney included some adorable mini images to go with any sentiment you can think up too! Go check out the other peeks on her blog to see! Go on...I'll wait...*wink*
And while you're at it, don't forget Karen and Paulina's peeks too, because they have some fun stuff to share today.
I'm so blessed to be working with these talented girls, aren't I?!

So I used Everyday Prints to make the fun tag on my card today, and I used Christmas Wonder to make the background text on the blue CS, and I used a piece of gorgeous fabric tape along the left side too.
Let me know what you think of today's card. I really had fun with this one and went a little crazy, huh?

Thanks for stopping by today,
big (((HUGS))) all around!

November 02, 2010

Hi Friends, I know I've been missing in action (and commenting) lately and I humbly apologize.

With two special needs boys, an uber busy career, a hubster who is dedicated to his work, and being chair of our school Christmas can understand that my crafting/blogging/commenting time is quite limited. I am hoping to get a bit more settled soon!

Today starts the showcase of samples using Practicing Creativity Design's two newest sets! The set I'm previewing today is called Rejoice. It's a lovely array of religious verses and quotes with a few surprises thrown in. *wink*

One of the things I like about this set is that your card can be simple or intricate and the stamps can be used for both the front AND the inside!

I love when I can coordinate the inside of my card to match the outside, and this set is perfect for that. Plus, who can resist that lovely font?!

For even more beautiful samples using Rejoice, stop by Karen's blog, Paulina's blog, and of course you can see them all and more on Courtney's blog.

Tuesday Throwdown and some Gratitude

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite mainstream holiday.
I love the premise behind it.
Giving thanks for all the bounty of the harvest season, sharing that bounty with friends, family, and complete strangers, and being grateful for all you have.
I'm so grateful for the blessings in my life.

Join us for Tuesday Throwdown this week. The challenge is to make a Thanksgiving card! We are bring sponsored by Sweet and Sassy stamps and I chose this delightful digital image to work with. It's called Fall Arrangement.
Some of you know that coloring isn't my thing, but I honestly enjoyed this so much I colored two more just like it!  Submit your thanksgiving card to Tuesday Throwdown for a chance at a great prize from Sweet and Sassy Stamps!

This card also matches this week's sketch at 2S4Y by serendipitous chance! A very kind blog reader alerted me to it, thanks Kim!

PTI Blog Hop

I'm still alive here, I promise! Doesn't life get insanely busy at this time of the year for everyone?

I made this card for the PTI Blog Hop. The challenge was to make a card for a winter holiday OTHER THAN Christmas, and to acknowledge all of the people who don't celebrate Christmas as the high holy day of the year.
What a lovely idea! My first thought was Eid, more specifically, Eid al-Adha, which is celebrated this year on November 17 by American Muslims, and is known as the Festival of Sacrifice.

All supplies are PTI except ribbon. I love using the shimmer CS that PTI carries, it really adds such a nice touch for festive occasions!

Thanks for stopping by, many hugs!
