*sniff sniff* Goodbye Sasya's Sketches...

Well friends, this is the last card I will post as a DT member for Sasya's Sketches. What a wonderful experience it's been! I have so enjoyed working with all the talented ladies on the team and just adore Sasya to pieces. She's the sweetest person ever.

This card goes out to all the past and present DT members I have worked with during my stint with Sasya's Sketches. Thank you everyone!

Come join us this week for this awesome sketch and a chance at some great prizes!
You can call it my "farewell favor!"

Thanks for stopping by today, and for all the well wishes yesterday. I'm feeling a bit more normal thanks to you!

All supplies PTI except Prima flowers and rhinestones.

Wild floral

Because I rambled a lot yesterday, I will keep today's post brief.

I made this for Sasya's Sketch this week. Some pretty patterned paper, a few embellishments, a simple sentiment and WHALAH!

Here is the sketch if you want to play along with us, isn't it fab?

Thanks for all the sweet comments yesterday, they made me smile.

Love this shot! You can see the tiny pearls I added to the centers of several flowers and the angle I created with the border sentiment strip.

I hope you play along with us this week at Sasya's Sketches. Next week will be my last and I'm so sad! (DT members can only serve 2 consecutive terms and this is my second)

Thanks for stopping by today friends,

Double take

So I made this card for my Sasya's Sketches DT commitment this week.
Whaddaya think?
I liked it alright, but it seemed like something was missing. Or was too much. Or something...
So I took it apart and made this one:

But that one didn't do it for me either so I gave up! *chuckle*

It was based on this sketch which I think is really cute.

Play along with us this week at Sasya's Sketches and show me what YOU come up with!

Thanks for stopping by today, I should be back home late tonight so I will catch up on my google reader and see what everyone else has been up to!

New DT call!

Happy Wednesday all!
I wanted to pop in today to show you the card I made using Sasya's Sketch no. 31.
I adore this sketch and was quite pleased with how my card turned out too. *smile*

I used the new Fine Linen CS from PTI, and the Diamond Impression Plate along with the BB: Diamonds stamp set too. The "thanks" stamp is from Mega Mixed Messages, and the "For this Day" is from Unity.
Flowers are Prima, leaf die-cuts made with an old Sizzix die, and the ribbon from PTI.

Here's the sketch, isn't is awesome?!

Also, Sasya is holding a call for a new Design Team for Sasya's Sketches, and if you are more of a LO person and enjoy scrapbooking, you can submit to be on a Sasya Sketches Pages DT too! I hope you will apply, because Sasya is just the sweetest person to work for and so talented too.

If you are feeling inspired, join us at Sasya's Sketches this week and maybe YOU'LL be on the next DT! *wink*

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a creative spurt and the time to use it!

Pale apricot is a beautiful color

Morning all!
Today's card is for Sasya's Sketches. I'm rather happy with how this one turned out...can I say that?*smile* Pale apricot has always been one of my favorite colors.
Finally used some PP that I've had for a few months, and one of the gorgeous pale orange paper flowers from Prima that I just HAD to have a few months ago and never even opened!*chuckle*
I know the LO is vaguely familiar (see yesterday's mat stack wreath card!), but it actually comes from this week's sketch.
It was hard for me not to cover up the edges of the PP on this card, but every time I did, I didn't like it, no matter what I tried using, so I ended up leaving them showing. I even tried a small border punch along there but it just didn't 'work". You KWIM, right?

If you feel like playing along wiht us this week, post your creation at Sasya's Sketches for a chance at some really cool prizes.

Thanks for stopping by,

Sasyas sketches no.29

Happy Wednesday!
I'm in a bit of a rush, but I wanted to pop in with this card for Sasya's Sketches. I loved this week's sketch, it has so many possibilities!

I used new stamps from Flourishes, called Fine Herbs and a CB folder. It was actually quick and simple!

Play along with us at Sasya's Sketches for some great opportunities!

Sorry for the brevity,
big ((HUGS)),

Sasya's Sketches #28

Sorry this is late posting this morning! I thought I had already written and scheduled it! * chuckle*

I decided to go very simple (for me anyway) for today's card (although I made it several days ago) Fresh, clean, and bright!
You can tell I'm a terrible seamstress, but my regular sewing machine isn't working and I had to use my Janome sew-mini and you can't control the speed.

Isn't this sketch awesome? It's Sasya's sketch no. 28!

If you feel like playing along this week, link your project to Sasya's Sketches for a chance at some fun prizes, top-notch recognition, or a guest designer spot!

That's all folks,

Larkspur sketch

Every once in a while I get a hankerin' to create a larger A7 size card. I just feel the need for more creative space, KWIM?

So when I saw this week's sketch at Sasya's Sketches I knew just what stamp I wanted to use because it needs a big space to "flow". And also because I just LOVE this sketch too! *grin*

It seems to be calling out for a large stamp and I complied with PTI's YOF: Larkspurs. After embossing in white, I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a nestie. On a Smokey Shadow base, with touches of lavender and green, this card is for my older sister Judy's birthday (which happens to be today!)

Why not try this sketch out and submit your card or project to Sasya's Sketches! You could win prizes or even be a guest designer!

Thanks for stopping by, have a good hump day!
PS. Today was the first day of school for us and I wanted to share some photos of my boys, but our computer totally crashed at home so I had to come to the library to type this post last night. Alas, no photos...*pout* I'm hoping something can be fixed becasue I have lots of cards to post!

Scavenger hunt for hints!

Today starts the countdown to the newest release from Practicing Creativity Designs

Although I'm not sharing a "sneak peek" until tomorrow, somewhere in THIS VERY post is a hint in the form of an alphabetic letter that will match up with letters hidden in the other designer's blogs and make a word. That word will be a dead giveaway hint as to what the set will be!

Be sure to check out
to find the rest of your letters!

Once you've found all your letters go back to Courtney's blog and leave your answer on her post.  A random winner will be drawn from all the correct guesses and that person will win the set! (and believe me, you will Love this set! *squeal*)

Today's card is for Sasya's Sketch number 26. I really, really like this one and had fun designing this simple card. Most of you know that I am terrible at combining red and green together without it looking "holiday-ish" so I keep challenging myself to get better at it!

I turned the sketch on it's side and left the sentiment off. Stamp is from the Text Boxed set by PTI. Whaddaya think peeps? Join us for some awesome prizes this week!

Stay tuned for a sneak peek tomorrow of the newest release at Practicing Creativity Designs! I'm so excited! *grin*

Keys and locks

So I used only ONE stamp on this card...anyone know what it is?

It's the key on the left! It's from the Key to My Heart set by Practicing Creativity Designs, and I embossed it with a mixture of patina gold and copper e.p. and fussy cut it out including the center sections.
(I buy all my e.p. HERE if you are interested. Their detail e.p. is the best I've ever come across, and no, I don't get kickbacks! *snort*)

This card is for Sasya's Sketches. This week's sketch was HARD for me...I could not make up my mind what to create and then all of a sudden this idea popped into my head and the whole card took me about 20 minutes! I'm happy with it. I have a ton of those old keys in my "altered art" drawers from my altered art obsession days, and I was glad to use one!

Play along with us this week at Sasya's Sketches and see if this one is easy for you! And check out what the rest of the DT did...oh my goodness, some beautiful cards for sure. Those girls are tal-en-ted!

Maybe you can be the next guest designer!

Birthday Wishes

Good morning all! Just a quick pop-in today. This is for Sasya's Sketches...can you believe we're already up to no. 24?! I know, right?

(Somewhere in blogland there is a similar card...I saw it forever ago and it stuck in my head, so if it was yours, let me know and I'll give proper credit!)

This was the first time I've ever made those tiny roll up flower buds. I don't recall where I learned them, but I just cut out a simple swirl, like this one (only thicker),
and started rolling up from the inside. When I got to the end I glued it and stuck a pearl in the center. Simple and easy!

Stamps include script background from TAC, Turning a New Leaf and Mixed Messages from PTI.

Join us for this week's sketch at Sasya's sketches!
Thanks for stopping by!

Blue skies...smilin' at me...nothin' but blue skies

I'm late posting this morning. I want to to go back to bed. It's only Wednesday and already I'm clambering for the weekend!

The sketch this week at Sasyas Sketches is so different, I had a hard time with it, I'll admit! But once I fiddled with it enough I made it work for me and this beauty (if I do say so myself) was created.
Yes, that's another paper rose! I left it white this time and absolutely love it. Everything else is PTI except the orange snaps in the corner which are MM.

I hope you'll play along with us this week because I'd love to see what you come up with using this sketch! Can you believe this is sketch no. 23????

Metallic hearts!

It's time for another Sasya's Sketch!
I really had fun playing with this one and made several before deciding on this one for my DT requirement.
I just love how the BG layer looks like real embossed metal! All I did was emboss a piece of black CS using a CB folder and then sponge silver pigment ink on top. The small piece of colorful PP is from a pad I earned 5 years ago from TAC, and I embossed silver hearts on it using Background Builders: Hearts from WPlus9. Sentiment is from Heartprints Sentiments by PTI.

Here's the sketch if you want to play along with us this week. I know there are fabulous prizes to be randomly won, and recognition for top 5 works also. This is also the first week for the new Design Team too, and now there are three of us girls from the states on the team! Myself, Diane, and now Sherry! Join us for the fun!

Thanks for stopping by,
(scroll up to see another sneak peek at the newest releases from PCD.)

Simple appreciation (scheduled)

Hello! I'm hopefully lying on the beach reading a book (under an umbrella, of course) by the time you read this. Or maybe biking the trail around the peninsula!

Today's card is for the newest sketch at Sasya Sketches. For some reason I kept this one really simple, although it can absolutely be taken in the opposite direction. *smile* I haven't used that Tim Holtz stamp in quite a while so I grabbed it on a whim and I think it works well! Sentiment is from PTI.

I hope you'll play along with us this week at Sasya's Sketches!

Lilly thanks

Hey folks, I'm not on vacation yet! Not until Sunday! (but thanks for the vaca wishes anyway...*grin*)

This card was made for Sasya's Sketches. This weeks sketch is a fun one, and I wanted to keep it simple. White embossed flower image with white inking on an embossed kraft base.
Won't you play along with us this week for sketch no. 20 at Sasya's Sketches?

Thanks for stopping by!
