Color challenge

Some of you may have noticed that Simply Scrapping Crafts has shut down.
It's sad, yes. The owner just had to take care of herself.
BUT...
The Wednesday card challenges are still happening!
They are still being sponsored, and prizes are still to be won, so keep playing along with us at the SSC blog!

This was the hardest challenge (for me) yet!
Choose any four of the following five colors to create with.

I used some old SU stamps for the embossed BG in orange, and the sentiment is a Unity stamp. Crochet lace trim is by May Arts.

Come play along with us and prove to me that this is NOT a hard challenge! *chortle*

Thanks for stopping by,

Painting challenge

Good grief why does life seem to get so busy as soon as warmer weather hits?
I've been CRAZY for the past few days! I need a break already...

Today's card is for the Painting challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts.

Instead of using actual paint, I used a paintbrush and
some Ranger Distress ink and "painted" the ink on.
*smile*
Stamp is from Unity
Ribbon is May Arts, who also happens to be our sponsor this week!
Join us for a yummy prize package of gorgeous May Arts ribbon and trims.

Thanks for stopping by,

Sad news.

Hi everyone. I'm home from vacation and back into the swing of things.

Sadly, I came home to bad news. My Godmother (and my mom's BFF from college) passed away, so we are pretty torn up. I was relatively close to my Godmother, and have called her Aunt Bunny since I was old enough to speak.
Some of you may remember the card I made for her to thank her "in advance" for her continued love and support. I'm sad to think she will never receive it...*sniff sniff*

The larger card above was made for a challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts last week to "stamps a scene."
I've ALWAYS had trouble with scene stamping but was really happy with how this one turned out!

All  stamps are Unity. The gold bird and gorgeous blue seam binding are from Bearydo Paperie.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm glad to be back. Keep us in your thoughts...

CAS thanks

I've been limited in my crafty time lately and this problem seems to lend itself well to producing CAS cards. This one was made in a mere 15 minutes.  And those 15 minutes were hard to come by too!
I tend to plan things out in my head in advance so I know JUST what to grab or reach for when I sit down! With not a lot of "play" time I compose cards in my head all day at work, while driving, while cooking dinner, etc. Granted, they don't always turn out...but that's another story. *chuckle*

Although the card base and ribbon are vintage cream, I added a few tiny dots of white gel pen to the flower. You can't tell it doesn't match!

Thanks for stopping by today friends. I really appreciate each one of you who visits...it makes creating and sharing worthwhile IMHO.

Big hugs,
Carstock, die cut, music and sentiment stamps are all PTI. Flower (Queen Anne's Lace I believe-my FAVORITE!) stamp by Unity.

Give me wings

Do you sew on your cards? Do you want to try if you don't?
Come on over to Simply Scrapping Crafts for a brand new tutorial and challenge!
The card DT is hosting a new challenge every Wednesday, and this week  the challenge is SEWING!

I used 2 stamps by Unity and shades of grey and pink CS to create this one. Some simple distressed edges and a few stitches with my machine were all it needed to "finish it off".

If you love to sew on your cards, or if you like the look and want to give it a whirl, hop over to SSC and post your creation for a chance to win some fabulous prizes.

Thanks for stopping by today, I plan to play catch up on everyone's blogs ASAP, so keep an eye out!

5 minute challenge

Every once in a while when I am feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities, I like to take "five minute time outs."
Usually I just meditate in a quite spot (in my house that would be the upstairs bathroom lol!) and center my thoughts and focus on breathing deeply. When my timer goes off, I return to the madness! Yesterday I decided to spend those five minutes in my studio.

I didn't think I could really create anything in that time frame, but I wanted to "play." Strangely enough, as I was moving some scraps of PP,  this card popped into my head. The entire thing...just like that. I think I may have been inspired by this card of Melissa's in reference to the space for the sentiment. So I went with it and was pleasantly surprised!

When the timer went off I sat back and looked at this card and was pleased.
What more could a girl ask for?
*smile*

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamp by Unity, PP is BG, jewels are Prima, felt and CS from PTI, rolled flower die from MFT.

Thankful

Are you having a beautiful Sunday?
It started snowing again here yesterday so the 2-day warm spell did not last...*sigh*

I know I complain a lot about the weather here in upstate, western NY, but in reality I am grateful that I live someplace with four beautiful seasons. I just wish Winter wasn't 6+ months long!

I made this card with some sample patterned papers that my dear friend Bobbie sent me. I'm assuming they were SU because she is a demo, but I could be wrong.
The sentiment and house with trees stamps are Unity from their September 2010 KOTM (and it happens to be on sale right now!).
All CS is PTI as are ribbon, buttons, tag die, and twine. Lace is MM.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope the rest of your days is delightful!

Unity Bird

Remember you only have one more day to enter my anniversary giveaway here.

It's FRI-day! Woo hoo!

Did you get a chance to order your new PCD set, For the Love of Grids? Isn't it awesome?!
Speaking of PCD, the ribbon on this card is from the Practicing Creativity store too! I love this wide seafoam color...so pretty.

This card is another from the archives. I made it last week sometime and never got around to posting it. Image and sentiment stamps are from Unity. Card base is SU grey...I forget what it is called...I've had this stuff for years now, LOL. Other colors are Aqua Mist and Lavender Moon both by PTI. I used this digital file to make the rolled flowers.

The impressed card base doesn't show well in the bigger photo, but as you can see here it does indeed have some texture!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a FABBY Friday!
