Carved Love

'Morning all!

Today's peek is at a FABULOUS set called Carved Love that PCD will be releasing at midnight tonight!

It is the most creative "love themed" stamp set that I've ever used. I am not joking when I say that I {heart} these stamps!

The birch bark background stamp is my absolute favorite. We had lots of birch trees on our property when I was a kid; river birch, paper birch, yellow birch...all of which grew in clusters. I loved them.


I made this card for my hubster, Greg (Captain Obvious strikes again! *chuckle*) for St. Valentine's Day. I stamped the birch pattern on stone grey CS and embossed with black e.p., then I decided to add red and black as accent colors to finish the card. The arrow parts are separate stamps, as are the words I used in the sentiment.


Another thing I love about this set, Carved Love, is that it comes with alphabet stamps so you can "carve" whatever you want! (hence the "GREG" I stamped in the heart image!)

PCD January Sneak Peek!

This month is Practicing Creativity's first BIRTHDAY! Can you believe it's been an entire year since Courtney began her stamp designing adventure?

In honor of their one year anniversary, PCD is releasing this super-fun set, called Another Year. It's one of the easiest sets I've ever worked with. And talk about quick, 5-minute cards! 

I made both these cards, one masculine, one feminine, in about 12 minutes. 

Seriously. Twelve minutes!

How great is that? Sometimes I don't have a lot of time to create and when I need a quick birthday card, I know I will be reaching for Another Year.

It's HINT time!

Happy New year to everyone!

I know I have been missing in action for a while, but the Holidays are always such a hectic time for our family because we do so much travelling that I cannot keep up, so it was one less thing to stress about if I just stopped blogging. Forgive me.

This card was made using Key To My Heart by PCD because tomorrow starts the sneak peeks for the two newest releases! Woo Hoo! I can't wait to share what I've created with you.

Card Details: I love making my own PP with stamps. It's so satisfying! Don't you love how just two simple stamps can make such fun argyle PP? I stamped and cut out the key and lock too, and hung them from a chain. I like dangling things on my cards lately. Pink CS is SU, Red and white are PTI.

Christmas Trees

Happy Saturday!

We went and cut down our tree last night, so I will be spending the day decorating. This is WAY early for us, as we normally don't get our tree until 2 weeks before Christmas, but the weather has been treacherous so we are trying to get a head start.

These are just some simple cards that I made and sold as boxed sets for the fundraiser at my children's school last month. I ended up making 104 cards (not all this designs) and sold all but one box of 6! The school was happy, because of course they received the money, and being a very small private school, they need all the help they can get.

All supplies PTI, except black ink which is Ranger Archival, of course! (Won't use anything else!)

A Rising Star

So did you get a chance to purchase your new PCD stamps last night? I'm sure there are still some left this morning if you didn't. *wink*

I made this card using both Look Up! and Look Up! Additions, and had so much fun coloring those hot air balloons. Isn't that sentiment the best? I love, love, love the perfect sayings in the new set. They are so appropriate!

Unlike genius Amy, I hand cut my curved banners (WHY?!?!?!), but you can bet your patooty that I will use the scalloped border die from PTI in the future! I'm a fast learner, I am!

Nature's Wonder Sneak Peek

No tricks today, I promise! *smile*

Just a straightforward peek at the other new set being released at midnight tonight by Practicing Creativity Designs. 

This is a much requested follow-up to Karen's highly popular Christmas Wonder set, and I have to say it is in my top 10 favorite stamp sets of all time!

I love the true, organic feel to the stem/grass images. They are so realistic and natural that I can't seem to stop using them. And that large open font? LOVE IT. 

So what do you think? Pretty, isn't it? 

Am I allowed to say that? *looks around in curious wonder*

Well, that's why we stampers do what we do, right? Because WE love it! *silly grin*

I'm alive and well (finally)

Yes I'm alive. 
For all you sweet, sweet folks who emailed me, called me, texted me, sent me cards, and thought about me...I thank you. 

This has always been an emotionally rough time of year for me (Both my FIL and my Dad died in the month of November), but the death of my 22 year old niece this year really threw a wrench in the spirit of Thanksgiving. She will be missed.

I have also just gotten over a severe illness in which I could only keep down water for several days. (On the pus side, I lost quite a few pounds! *grin*)

I whipped up this wedding card for my youngest's first grade teacher. She got married over Thanksgiving break and all of the moms in the class got together and purchased gifts and threw a surprise party for her.

I used Wedding Day and Giga Guidelines. The large poofy flower was just some punched scallop circles that I crumpled up and stacked together.

Here's the inside. I love that sentiment from Birthday Basics!

You color my world

Yes. I admit it. It's been an entire week since I posted, BUT...I have been stamping up a storm while I've been missing, so that's okay, right? Right?

I've made 14 sets of boxed Christmas cards for the charity auction I'm chairing this week!

Each set has at least 5, most have 6. SO that means I've created somewhere between 70-84 cards! *exhausted sigh*

Anyway, this card is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week to incorporate Buttons & Bows onto your project.

TGIF!!

Just popping in to show you one last card I made for the release of Rejoice and Everyday Prints at Practicing Creativity Designs. They were released at midnight...did you get yours already?

Today is my hubster's birthday (Yes, I married a Scorpio...WHAT was I thinking???*grin*) and he asked for a German chocolate cake, so after work I have to rush home and quickly make one! I'm using Trisha Yearwood's recipe. She apparently makes it for Garth each year on HIS birthday, so it must be good, right?

Here's the inside of my card:

I used the star burst images from Rejoice! along with two quotes. And ironically enough, although I hate the color red, I was pleased with they way this card turned out! The black twill looks so good in real life.

So thanks for sticking with me this week for my PCD sneak peeks, even though I've had absolutely NO time for blog hopping and commenting. I can't wait to play catchup this weekend and see all your fabulous creations!!!

Christmas Banner

Howdy all!

I couldn't resist using Everyday Prints to make this super festive banner!

It just came together so quickly and easily with a few pieces of fabric tape in between each tag. Of course I had to heat emboss "joy" with gold e.p. to make it really stand out, but it didn't take long because I stamped them all at the same time on the same sheet of CS!

Here's a bigger picture so you can see the entire banner.

Terrible lighting, I know, but it's my upstairs foyer and there is only one window on this side.

Know what my favorite part of this banner is? The adorable little Christmas trees in the top section! They are just too cute!

Now that I realize just how simple it is to make a banner using these easy-to-cut-out tag images I can't wait to make one for other occasions too! How about New Year's with blue and gold? Or St. Valentine's Day with pink and purple and the words "Love You"? 

Eeeek, I'm already excited about the myriad of possibilities!

Rejoice!

Hi Friends, I know I've been missing in action (and commenting) lately and I humbly apologize. 

With two special needs boys, an uber busy career, a hubster who is dedicated to his work, and being chair of our school Christmas Bazaar...you can understand that my crafting/blogging/commenting time is quite limited. I am hoping to get a bit more settled soon!

Today starts the showcase of samples using Practicing Creativity Design's two newest sets! The set I'm previewing today is called Rejoice. It's a lovely array of religious verses and quotes with a few surprises thrown in. *wink*

One of the things I like about this set is that your card can be simple or intricate and the stamps can be used for both the front AND the inside!

I love when I can coordinate the inside of my card to match the outside, and this set is perfect for that. Plus, who can resist that lovely font?!
