So...I went with orange, yellow and blue with touches of dark red.
It turned out to be a big hit at the shower, with several folks "pre-ordering" one from me for various other events!
I used PP from Chatterbox, red chipboard letters by MM, Prima flowers, various ribbons and ric rac from my stash, embellishments by Doodlebug, $ Tree, MM, and Joanns. Bazzill chipboard flower. I adhered the paper to the can using Mod Podge and it worked well.
I filled the can with: Aveno baby wash, lotion, and diaper rash cream, a pack of white onsies, an accessories kit in a teal bag that had nail clippers, a thermometer, bulbous nose thingie, medicine spoon, etc., a 4 pack of organic cotton baby washcloths, a bottle brush, a pack of organic cotton baby socks, a binky clip thingie, and a mini comp book journal decorated to match the can for the mom's purse.
I still have a few empty paint cans left from my buying spree last year, and I think I will alter one for our oldest foster son's teacher.
