I love Halloween!

I'm so excited to be a part of this month's blog hop with Denami! 

You all know how much I love Halloween stamps in general, and Denami has some really fun ones. 

I decided to make cute tags and toppers for some goodies at my son's school. I made tons of each, but just wanted to show you a sampling. 

Did you just come from my stupendous pal Amy's blog? That girl can not only put a smile on anyone's face, but she is kind, talented, has a beautiful voice, and is funny to boot! (And although I shouldn't be spilling the beans, she gave me a special sneak peek of her blog hop card and I fell in LOVE!) Isn't she a creative genius too?!

Halloween S'mores kits with toppers. 

Stamps used: Small Jack O'lantern, Friendly Ghost, Happy Halloween. 

Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats cut out with cookie cutters in leaf, acorn, and pumpkin shapes (Acorn and pumpkin not shown), drizzled with white chocolate. Recipe here. Stamps used: Autumn Stamp Set.

My card above uses the Halloween Chickie Scene, A grey colored washi tape very similar to this, twine, and rhinestones.

Funky Square Tags FriDies...

Okay, ONE last sneak peek before the full reveal tonight! *squeal*

Introducing Funky Square Tags! 

This die set is similar to yesterday's in that it comes with a tag, a smaller "inside" tag, and a die that perfect fits the funky flower from Bold Wishes. The only difference is the flower image die and that the tags are square instead of round!

I chose to make placecard table setting tags for Thanksgiving. I die cut the outer tag on a folded sheet of cardstock, being sure to leave just a tiny bit of the fold uncut. Once opened, it stands up perfectly, even with a ribbon at the top:) Stamps used are from the new Amber Waves set that will be released tonight at midnight EST!!

Funky Round Tags FriDies...

Hi all! Did you like yesterday's peek at the gorgeous Petal FriDies that will be released this week?

Today's sneak peaks are of the new Funky Round Tags die set.

The set has two circles, one with a tag top and the other to fit inside. It also has an asterisk die to match the Exclamations stamp set! Woohoo!

I used both circle tag dies and the 8 Happy Nights set for my Hanukkah tags.

Spring tags

Hi Friends! I'm posting from my phone, so forgive the LO of this post.

CAS-ual Fridays (tags)

I know it's cliche, but TGIF! 

This work week has worn me down, but I am planning on having some fun this evening, and getting crafty with a friend this weekend, so it's all good:)

This week at CAS-ual Friday, we were challenged to make tags.

I love making tags.

I use them on packages and gift bags frequently so I can never have enough in my stash.

In fact, I made a few more last week for a post on the Casual Fridays Stamps blog too.

Both sets of tags use Merry Kiss-mas and the top two tags also use Snowflake Greetings.

CAS-ual Fridays-Tag

Yes, today is Veterans' Day. And also 11/11/11.  

Not just a day off from work or school, but a day to remember all those that risked life and limb to fight for what they believed was right.

My dad was a WWII Marine. 

He lied about his age in order to enlist (he was 17). He survived all four campaign battles (Tinian, Roi Namur, Saipan and Iwo Jima), and eventually returned and raised 7 children. Along the way he found time to hike the entire Appalachian Trail 2 1/2 times. He died in November 2008, at age 84, and I miss him every day.

I love making tags. They are smaller canvases and are perfect for the clean & simple style.

I made this one for a bag of gourmet candy drops using some really fun stamps from Purple Onion Designs!

Wreath tags

Good morning all! Thank goodness it's almost Friday...

I made these tags last night at the request of one of the parents in the HSA (Home School Association). Tonight is Parent/Teacher night at our school, and we like to welcome the new families that joined us with plates of cookies. The person in charge wanted a nice fall tag to go with each plate with the family's name on it and the school's information on the back.

Because my PTI order came yesterday I could not resist using the new wreath set. I LOVE it. 

These were quick and simple, with not too many embellishments.

I wrote the family's name, used a stamp from First Fruits to stamp the word "family", stamped the wreath and the "welcome" from that set, and then used Simple Alphabet to stamp our school name.

Some inking on the edges and a bit of terracotta tile twill and I called it done!

A late post

I'm typically a morning poster, but I had so much going on this morning when I got to my office I didn't get a chance! Better late than never, right?

Did everyone have a nice holiday? I was going to post a photo of my fun salt potatoes today, but we were so hungry that we ate them all up before I remembered to take a photograph! I wanted to share them because I bought red, white and purple (blue) potatoes to cook for the 4th of July!
They looked so festive and tasted delicious. I occasionally buy purple potatoes for a fun change of pace, they are quite striking.
I made this tag for a friend of mine. we don't get together as often as we should and I miss her.

SUPPLIES: PP from my stash (anyone know who makes this? SEI maybe?), sentiment stamp from Michael's dollar spot, flower stamp from Purple Onion designs, pink velvet ribbon from MM, white and green from my stash, Bazzill CS, Signo gel pen, SU ink, prismacolor pencils, brown flower brad from a swap 4 years ago.

Shoebox swap

Last April, a group of card-making swappers who'd become friends through an online message board, met up in Vegas! We had a blast meeting everyone and doing lots of make-n-takes, classes, shoe-box swaps, stamp shopping, site-seeing, etc.
I created an artsy-style tag for my shoebox swap. I was trying to coax my fellow swappers out of their shell and move away from the typical stuff we were making. I made 17 packets of supplies needed to create this tag, but only 10 or so participated, so I came home with a bundle of materials!

Last night I was having some creative block and decided to make up a few of those tags with my leftover packets.

NOTE: The small slide frame is crooked in the photo, it should actually be crooked on the tag!

I aged the tags with walnut ink, stippled them with 3 colors of ink, stamped the BG with a fun art print stamp, tore and sponged ink on the "ART" stamped paper, added the vellum cut-outs of the girl and the clock, glued on the mini frame, stamped inside it and added ribbons and fiber. I think the next photo is clearer and easier to see.

It is quite cold here in upstate New York this morning. - 1, with a wind chill of -25! School is closed because of the ice on the roads. We live in such a rural area of the valley, the buses need semi-clear roads to gather all the children.

I woke early again and felt like working in my studio, so I popped out this quick tag based on a design I saw in Papercrafts Magazine.

PP by Creative Impulse, yellow CS by Bazzill, SU whisper white and cool caribbean CS, Chalk ink by Colorbox and Versamagic, brads and rub-ons by MM, ribbon by offray.

The original used a sailboat embellishment sticker by Doodlebug, but not having it, I just made my own by cutting some shapes out of CS, and layering them on a circle I stamped with chalk ink. I then punched it out using my Marvy mega circle punch and inked the edges, before adhering it with pop dots. I doodled on the boat a bit using my white gel pen. I have another one in mind using different colors and a duck instead of a sailboat, so if I get to it tonight, I'll post it also.
