Birthday Boy

Our oldest turns 11 years old today! When we first adopted him and his brother the state gave us new birth certificates showing that we were the legal parents. I almost choked at the part where it gave my age at the time of his birth...21!
I was MOST DEFINITELY not thinking about having kids when I was 21 and still in college! lol
So it seems weird (to me) to have an 11 year old when I am only 33.

I made this card for him late last night when we returned home from our trip to visit some family on the other side of the state. All products except for the PP scrap are from PTI. I just love that Fly Away set. Oh, and I tried Belinda's technique for making clouds and it was so easy and fun! You can see I also added some white dots to the BB: Retro BG.

The birthday boy asked if we could go bowling for his BD treat. He loves to bowl! Here we are on the way to the bowling alley with my great-nephew to the far right.

(The birthday boy is in the center)

And here we all are at the bowling alley (I'm taking the photo). Notice the completely absurd expression on the birthday boy's face? What a nut!

Hope all you mothers and grandmothers out there had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was spent mostly driving, but when we got home my hubster did cook supper for all of us, so that was a nice change.

Thanks for stopping by today friends! It's good to be home.

Fab birthday boy card Dana! I just love the colours and you paired it with the perfect patterned paper too! I'm sure he will love it - he's lucky to have such a creative mum!

Lovin' your card (colors & design) and your little man's expression in the bowling photo (priceless)! Glad you got to kick back a little for mother's day and didn't have to cook.

What cuties they both are! I'm with you on the kids at 21 thing. When I had Ava I was 25 and I still feel like that was too young! Ha! At 21 all I was thinking about was staying out all night and heading to Waffle House. Wow..nice! :o)

I love the birthday card! I didn't get this set because I don't really know any little boys that i'd make cards for. That's a shame! :o)

Dana, your boys are adorable. Don't tell your 11 year old that I used that word to describe him. I'm sure he's too cool for that:) Hope he has a wonderful day today! Love this card. Your clouds look perfect.

It's my nephew's 11th birthday today too! And I think that 'expression' is a requisite of the year 11- he was making that same face in many of his pics!!! Love the card & happy (day after) mother's day to you! :)
