Sweet peas

Happy Wednesday friends! How is everyone this morning? The sun is shining here and even though I fell down the stairs yesterday evening, I'm feeling happy. (with a very swollen leg) *rolling my eyes*

Today's card is a bit different from my recent posts, but I was feeling a wee bit guilty about the boxes and boxes and BOXES of patterned paper that I've been collecting for almost 7 years, so I decided to challenge myself to start using it!

Scarlet Jewel base, Lemon Tart mat, PP from my stash (and I have no earthly clue of the manufacturer), Summer sunrise twill, Spring Rain CS under sentiment, YOF: Sweet Peas stamps. I also threw in some vellum to highlight a few of the flowers that I stamped on the PP, a button and some stitching.

Although I've ruffled up ribbons on my cards before, Ashley's video inspired me to do it along the entire length for a change. Whadda ya think?

Don't forget to drop by Courtney's blog again today for one last peek at the new set You're The Man, to be released tomorrow, May 6th (midnight tonight actually)!

Thanks for stopping by today! I love you guys!

Dana I love this! The way you made the flowers stand out, but subtly, using the vellum is genius! The ruffled ribbon works great and I love the stitched border round the sentiment, and the little twine-tied button. So many perfect details!!

Another outstanding card Dana! What a creative idea to stamp the flowers on the pp and use vellum to showcase a few. I love the ruffled ribbon too. I'm also trying to use up the piles of patterned paper that have been collecting dust.

I'm guilty of this too! Love the stamp on pp!!

So pretty! i love the ribbon all scrunched up and the vellum flowers. And thank you so much for your kind words on my blog! i finished a shadowbox for my mom, and once i have photos i'll post them. i've always been into mixed media, but lately i seem to be finding my niche, or maybe just really discovering my own voice. It feels good!
