Lemon spring leaves

So I learned something this weekend...packing one's studio up for a trip and having everything you need when you get there is impossible. I guess you need to know in advance exactly what you want to create. I did not have any ideas in mind when I packed up so when it came time to actually create something I almost always did NOT have the stamp set, or ribbon, or brad, or ink color I wanted. *rolling eyes*

"Making do" with what I had was a learning experience. I am used to being able to reach up and grab exactly what I want to create with. *smile* So while this card would have turned out a bit different had it been made in my studio, it is not bad for being made in a rec center at a camp in the Adirondacks! ETA: My BFF came to the rescue with those gorgeous sparkly lime brads and willingly sacrificed  three of them to save the card!

Stamps used: Take Three: Spring and Turning a New Leaf

Thanks for stopping by, I've missed you guys!

well, I LOVE your card...Yup, I'm one that can't create while 'on the go'...I like having all my hoarded goodies within reach:)

SOOO pretty! Love how you stamped off on the main image! A great color combo too! (Packing is hard! This is why I want everyone to come to my house to crop anymore! lol!)

Very pretty!

I used to scrapbook heavily (before stamping) and took everything with me! I was into Creative Memories (I used to sell it) and had won all the "luggage" and was able to haul all my stuff with me. My scrappin' friends were the same way. We all showed up with luggage when we got together to scrap! LOL I have way too many stamping items to ever do that.

I love this! So pretty! I just ordered Take Three: Summer, but you're making me think I might need to put Spring on my wishlist, too... LOL! I hear ya on packing for a crop, I decided long ago that if I want to crop with friends, I'm better off inviting them to MY house! ;) LOL!

Beautiful! Loving the colors you used and the design. Cornering of some and not all of the edges - cool!

Yeah, that's the one thing about crops I've learned... gotta know what you want or you end up with 1/2 dozen unfinished cards. Haha. But its a good challenge to make with what's do as well! Love the card and the fun double stamping.:)

I think this turned out lovely!! Glad you had fun- but I totally know what you mean about trying to pack for that sort of thing without knowing what you're going to work on!!! I haven't even TRIED in over a year!!

I can only create at home. When I go elsewhere i've either forgotten something or just can't find the right card to create. I really like this card, though. The colors are cool and I like how you rounded only two of the corners on the panel. Very cool!

This is great. I love the way the hawaiian shores isn't as loud as usualy combined with the yellow and green.

You did a beautiful job with your "limited supplies"!!

I think you did a nice job on it especially with limited supplies. I would have a hard time knowing what to take with me too!

I LOVE it, such a pretty color combo and design. But I'm with you on not being able to create as well away from my studio. I've tried and it's true, I just sit there the whole time wishing I had this or that :) Hope you had fun anyway!

A true blog (and real-life) friend would have credited her BF with saving the day with that sparkly brad and linked to said BF's own blog, (as THIS blogger friend would have done) but you shall be forgiven, this time.

Pretty pretty card! :-)

This is fantastic, Dana! You should do the packing up and making do more often!

Hey, I wanted to post another comment b/c I just looked again when I read others' comments and I didn't notice before you you had rounded some of the corners and not the others! Nice touch! I also love that "shadow effect" created by the vines...I don't know if that was what you meant to do, but that's what it looks like to me, and I like it! OK, you have redeemed yourself for not linking to me!

Exactly why I can't stamp anywhere but at home, in my 'studio.' Anyway...love the color combo on this card...into my file it goes!
